Hip Plates for every chest style

ZOS, there are a lot of things that could be easily done to make character customization much more immersive and personalized for all players. One such option would be to allow us to "Toggle On/Off" the butt ugly hip armor plates that plague nearly every armor style in the game. they all make my character look like he has a "ghetto booty" or "badonkadonk" if you will. I use maybe 5% of all the outfit styles I have unlocked, which is close to 90% of all possible outfit styles/motifs because using the vast majority of chest motifs give my character this unwanted shape. I main a high elf, who is supposed to be tall, fit and trim. I would really rather not have two bulging armor plates just haphazardly swinging off my legs at the hips. in real life, these would cause tripping and would make the wearer unbalanced. I'm not asking you to make any new assets, just make removing these parts possible. No need to involve the art team or whoever. Variety is the key to success in a game where customization is paramount. I love ESO with all my heart but stuff like this seems like a no brainer. I feel the same way about the issue of being able to remove armor parts altogether. To my mind, it would be the easiest thing the world to give players the option to NOT wear anything in any given part of the body. it would make us very happy and would make you guys more dough. it's a win-win with no valid downside.

Those "things" ZOS insists on adding to every piece of armor have very little to do with "tassets".

And that purpose is "annoying almost everyone trying to design an outfit in this game." :D

Tassets serve a purpose on heavy armor. With that in mind, a good number of medium armor tops should loose them and nearly all light armor styles should lose them as well. Tassets on mages robes or tunics is not only butt-ugly but just plain absurd.

What I would like to see is more medium and especially light styles that do not feature tassets. Or butt flappers. Or crotch flappers. Or shoulder flappers. Leave those flappers for the heavy armor users where they at least have a purpose.

I’d like to apply dyes to pets’ and mounts’ armour, clothing, saddles, etc. Not fussed about hiding hip guards.

It's more to do with the character models. I noticed the hip pads give female characters enormous hips, while on most males they look alright.

For the same reason, male characters look like sticks when wearing styles that don't have the padding.

What I don't understand is - Who is drawing these things in the first place ? Hip pieces should be reasonably small/narrow. I should not have a garbage can attached to the bottom of my chestplate. Why can't the artists simply draw these piece so that they look good?

    weird

    IMHO

They're just building up the hype for a motif to come out without them in the crown store. Only 50000 crowns!

I think light armor looks stupid with them flapping around and some medium armors (think thief type) could go with out. Imo

Everyone I know's been complaining about this for years. I've come to the simple conclusion that they keep putting these ridiculous things on all the motifs to make the hottest new crown store costumes look that much more enticing.

ITA... I design my characters (all female) to have small hips. Tassets ruin that. And as someone pointed out, why the hell are they parts of light armor designs?

I was pleased to see that the Elf Hero costume did not have excess hip pads. My main is usually rocking a sword and shield and I like it when my sword is sitting on the hip as it should.

I'd also like it if motifs were to include sheaths or harnesses for our weapons. 🍺

If we had a dollar for every thread using ridiculous terms for tassets...

... I'll grant it's niche knowledge. But at this point I just roll my eyes every single damn time I see one of these threads. Not just because of ignorance about the proper terminology, but because it's not a big deal in the first place and there are plenty of styles that lack them now.

Tassets may be a real thing in historic heavy armors, but I guarantee they aren't supposed to free float parallel to and several inches from your thighs as you run.

Everything else in the character models looks good and I love how ESO took mmo graphics to a higher level, but those things just look like a graphics design mistake everytime you see them.

They wouldn't be nearly as bad if they didn't make DW/1h+Shield clip so frickin HORRIBLY most of the time. Even some styles without tassets clip like garbage with DW (looking at you, Ashlander style :( ) If they aren't clipping they're floating. Just awful all around.

+1 to the hatred of most of the crotch flaps too. They make mixing and matching with some legs a clipping nightmare as well.

Tassets are not the problem. Impractical, huge tassets are the problem. Moongrave Fane heavy are some of the most absurd I've seen yet. I made my male Breton thicc, so the tassets tend to look ridiculous on him.

"Crotch flaps" is a cursed phrase I hope to one day never have to see again with my eyes. (Along with said "crotch flaps.")

If I had a dollar for every time someone calls the magically hovering flaps(that hover even farther away while moving), that float several inches from your armor, "tassets", I'd be able to buy a whole roll of toilet paper off the black market.

I just wish the costume didn’t come with bonus breast enhancements. I make my ladies pretty flat, but that costume turns those A’s into C’s.
