First person view deserves some improvements.

I prefer third person view and I do roleplay. This game is designed to show off all kinds of things the single player games never did in third person. Like eating a pie or an apple from, juggling and all kinds of emotes. Mmorpgs like this tend to be more third person because they don't design the mechanics to work like a single player game and Single player games are games are worked to work with one view point or the other or both. Mmos tend to go Third Person and its do to the way the combat is designed and many mmos would offer lists of emotes that can be done in Third person. So unlike Skyrim you can actually see your character eating. You can see various actions being performed and that is just as immersive to me, being able to do those things.

I'm one of those people that plays Skyrim, Oblivion and other games in Third person Mode when I can. Its just a preference and yes they could improve first person and tweak it in Eso but would likely have to rewrite combat completely to make it a more viable option. If they make any big combat changes people get upset and tend to be vocal about it here on the forums.I doubt they'll rework combat for first person and its just more likely it gets removed completely then having an overhaul to make it a lot better. Since Eso is a Third person focused Mmorpg. That is how the majority play it and well first person is used by those that like that mode. But gimping yourself at the same time.

The games unique combat system to fully access its potential requires that third person view point maybe not in overland content but for sure in Pvp and dungeons. Its because you need to see whats going on around you or you'll see your dead somehow and not see where the attacks came from and its a big disadvantage.

Get a wide screen monitor. It will help you see more around you. However, 3rd person view will always be far superior since we can see our feet and even behind us. That is something is obviously not going to be the case with FP view and it is a choice players make.

I was thinking of gettinga 21:1 3440 x 1440 wide screen, how does eso play on it?

I use first person view to loot and steal because in third person view the camera focus will jump away from whatever I'm trying to look at in close quarters. I generally go to third person outside of these situations because I want to see what's happening around me. If you get attacked from behind in first person you can't see the red zone, so you end up "standing in stupid." What becomes annoying in third person is when you get backed against a wall and are forced into first person view until you can get out of that position. And yes, it would be nice if the character would face the direction you are looking. I've wanted to use emotes (for example) but when I turned toward whatever I was directing the emote at my character stayed facing the wrong way. By the time I maneuvered my character into the right position the moment was gone or the person I'd wanted to emote at had left. The camera views in this game all need work but the developers have bigger fish to fry with all the performance issues. I suspect it will be a long time before camera views get corrected, if ever.

Improving first person won't make third person worse though ... I use third person in dungeons, raids and stuff but when I'm just doing open world, questing etc I prefer to use first person, it's more immersive! It would also be so cool if you could see your body when you're looking down! I remember there was an mod for that in skyrim and it was awesome! :)
