Forced Handle and Character Names Change That I've Been Using Since 2014

Fleshsuit

Hello! I'll try to get directly to things. My handle in game (and my main character in game) had the name Fleshsuit until they were force changed on April 1st. I've been using those names since before the game launched and during the betas. I've tried talking to support and they told me today "Your name will need to be changed due to the unintended subject matter it may be associated with". I know ESO isn't other games, but I've been using the name for ages in many other games without any issue -- it's only here that, suddenly, my name that I've been using for six years has become an issue. My reference number for the incident is #200401-005032. If I could talk to someone reasonable that would be excellent. My name being changed due to the unintended subject matter that it may be associated with seems like a lot of hoops to jump through just to force change my name.

This really sucks. This section is a bit filler/rant, but I've also had a ton of issues since my account handle and four names were changed (the four character names were derivatives of Fleshsuit). All of my addons have lost their mind and have reverted to a default status since, I think, they were tied to my handle. My entire friend's list and guild list is empty now. All of my auctions I had in place are simply gone, I guess, as I never received them returned in the mail. I also can't login any affected characters during the anniversary (or for research, riding training, etc) due to needing to reset their name before logging in. I'm still keeping hope that these forced changes will be undone. On April 1st (before I was force renamed), I purchased 21,000 crowns for $97.19 during the sale. On March 5th, I bought the twelve month membership for $151.19. On February 29th, I bought 21,000 crowns for $161.99. Then I had a 1-month sub on February 5th for $16.19. Lastly (for this year) I had prepurchased Greymoor Digital Collector's Edition for $64.79 on January 31st. So that's a total of $491.35 that I've spent in the first four months of the year. My point by listing this is 1. I'm not some incredible lurker that never plays -- it's not like I've just been hiding for the past six years. I've been fairly consistently active. 2. I am a paying customer. I'm not saying this because I think paying customers should get away with breaking ToS, but I'm mentioning this because I don't think I have ever had any sort of infraction on my account other than this. My friends, random people I've talked to and myself all think that my name is in a grey area at worst. I've not met a single person that has been like "Well, duh, what were you thinking?" I feel like I deserve the benefit of the doubt here. I really don't want to have to try working with Steam to refund/partially refund that $491.35 I've spent recently. I really do not want to quit this game and also indirectly cause a few of my friends to quit the game because I got the short end of the stick here. My friends and guildies are aware of the situation and they all think it sucks. I know they're all biased because they're my friends, but I seriously do not think anyone out there was actually getting offended by my names. This is something that should have been a non-issue, but, after six years, apparently this is some sort of big deal. This is my last plea for assistance here. I know things are crazy right now. Please don't lose a decent member of the community and a paying customer because of this. Thank you for reading if you've made it this far. I hope your loved ones, friends and family members are staying safe and healthy.
