Anyone else not receiving tickets from eating cake?

I got from killing a boss today, but I havent got any tickets from eating cake.

I have 8 tickets, so its not because I have the limit.

Anyone else with the same problem?

Did you make sure, you're eating the correct version? The 2020 one?

Or was it maybe before the moment, when the tickets reset?

Those are the first two things that come to mind. I personally haven't had any problems receiving tickets from the cake as of yet. What platform and server are you on?

I tried to use both the 2017 and the 2020 edition, you can get tickets from both.

Doesnt the tickets reset the same time when dailies reset? Or is there a 24 hours cooldown from last receiving?

No, as far as I know they reset at a fixed time, really early in the morning for me (I'm in GMT+1). I had that happen once before when I was on very early and thought to just get my tickets real quick, but couldn't because they hadn't reset yet.

On a different note, I had no idea you could get the tickets with the older cake versions, too. Will try that when I log on later.

It's not a 24 hour timer (or 20 hour timer). On Friday I got tickets in the evening, my time, after I finished work and then on Saturday I was able to get them first thing in the morning, probably about 12 or 14 hours after I last got them.

I'm not sure what the reset time is, because the announcement doesn't say, but ZOS have sometimes used different reset times for different things, including event tickets.

Okay, so I just tried eating the 2019 cake and it didn't give me any tickets. The 2020 one did, however. So you probably just thought you got the tickets from eating the 2017 cake, but really didn't (it's also only in the description of the 2020 cake that it says you'll get event tickets from eating it once per day). Maybe that's the problem?

Do you have any inventory add-ons that could be interfering with actually seeing the ticket drops, @mikejezz?

Disable them before you attempt to eat tomorrow's cake and see what happens ...

No I do not face any inventory addons.

I have tried several times throughout the day to summon the cake and eat it after my xp buff went off but never got the extra tickets.

I've noticed something even more annoying.

I'm getting the tickets from eating the 2020 cake, every time, and it always says I am getting three tickets. However, they are sometimes not adding correctly to the total.

Yes, I always check my current ticket level immediately before eating the cake, every time. I also have charts setting out when I should finish each cycle of ten tickets. But, for example, I'll check my inventory currency tab, and it will say that I have four tickets. Then I immediately eat the cake, get the three ticket pop up, and then immediately recheck my currency tab, only to find that I have only six tickets, not seven as I should have. (In other words, four plus three should be seven, obviously, but I'm ending up with six. Or, I start with two, and end up with four instead of five, etc.)

I'm wondering whether this is somehow related to the fact that if you kill a boss, you get two tickets, but if you eat the cake, you get three? I.e., somehow the settings are messed up, and it's occasionally treating the cake tickets (3) like boss tickets (2)?

    Correct.
I can confirm that it is only possible to get event tickets from the 2020 anniversary cake.

How do we submit a Support ticket about missing event tickets? Specifically, what category are we expected to select for our issue? Those people who have had to submit a Support ticket and who were able to receive the missing tickets, did you ask for help within the game, and what category did you pick? Or did you submit your issue on the website, and what category did you pick?

I had 3 Vvardenfell dailies to turn in from earlier in the day, so I turned them in shortly before 2 AM EDT and got my reward boxes. Since it was only about 5 minutes before the daily reset, I stuck around Ald'ruhn to wait for the reset and grab the next days Ashlander jobs. While waiting, I double-checked my number of tickets to make sure I had less than 10; I had 0, because I had gotten exactly 10 earlier in the day and immediately spent them on a feather.

At 2 AM EDT, the blue quest pointer appeared above the Huntsmaster, so I summoned my cake memento and used it. I did not get a popup dialog box with my 3 tickets in it. I used the cake again, but still no tickets. I went to my Character screen and dismissed my Anniversary XP Buff, then summoned the cake again and used it, but still received no tickets.

Yes, I am summoning the 2020 cake. I have it quick-slotted for easy use. This is the first time in all of the events that have been held that I've had an issue receiving my tickets-- and I've been participating in all of the events from the one that first introduced event tickets and the very first Nascent Indrik feather, so I know how it works, and I'm always careful to keep track of how many tickets I have and spend them as soon as possible.

EDIT-- Well, dang. I was standing there outside the Huntsman's tent while I typed this post, so after posting I decided to try summoning the cake one more time. And this time I got my tickets! The only thing I did differently was that after I summoned the cake, I waited until my character stopped clapping before I tried to use the cake. When I tried it right after 2 AM EDT, I kind of rushed it and used the cake almost immediately after it appeared. I don't know if that made a difference, or if there was just some short period of lag between when the blue dailies icons appeared at 2 AM EDT and when the tickets reset, or what. I'm just glad I finally did get them! :)

    Hey, I've done that too.

Also, if you have max tickets (12 I think) you just don't get any more till you spend them. So spend before you eat (and yes, I've accidentally done that one too).

    Fingers crossed for you.

Although my own issue cleared up by itself, I'm still curious about the answers to my questions. As many months as the events have been going on now, and as often as people have been posting about not receiving their tickets, you'd kind of expect that there might be a specific choice in the Support options for "didn't receive my event tickets," but there isn't. So which choice should we go with?

    Hi guys,

Just a heads up. At least for me it was probably a in game glitch. The next day I logged it I had the tickets so I'm thinking that it was a interface glitch or something.

I'm wondering why it doesn't get any more attention...
I just checked again on PC EU server and none of the following cakes gave me any event tickets: 2016/2017/2018/2019
Only the 2020 cake gave me event tickets when I ate it.

If this isn't a bug, ZOS can at least mark the other anniversary cakes tooltips that they will not give the player event tickets and only the current year's anniversary cake will allow the player to receive event tickets...
In this case it is the 2020 anniversary cake.
@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_SarahHecker Please check it and add help tooltip text to assist the confused players who are eating the wrong cakes...

But it is marked. Only at 2020 cake there's a note "eat this cake to get tickets". Previous years give xp boost only

    Indeed.
But there are no notes for the other cakes.
Explaining that the player can't receive event tickets by using them will be helpful and less confusing.

My case-- which resolved itself, as already mentioned-- didn't involve any confusion about which cake I was eating. Having participated in two prior Anniversary Jubilees, I was well aware that only the current year's version of the cake gives tickets. I have the 2020 version-- and only the 2020 version-- Quickslotted on all characters, which is how I summon the cake on them; I don't do it by going into the Mementos screen and scrolling to find the cake.

I'm doubtful that my case had anything to do with the way I was eating my cake-- that is, using it as soon as it appeared, without waiting for my character to stop clapping-- but I mentioned that detail just in case it turns out to be important after all. It seems more likely that there can be a short delay of a minute or so between the moment when the blue quest markers reappear over the daily quest givers and the moment when the tickets reset. From now on I'm going to wait until 2:05 AM EDT before trying to get my tickets.
