A Thought On Champion Points

I feel almost certain this will have been suggested before but nevermind..

With an inevitable change to the champion system coming in the not to distant future, would a possible solution to provide two non interchangeable champion point trees? One for PvE and a separate one for PvP.
I'm sure it would be a little more work short term to get it up and running, but surely it would make things easier long term to help find this mythical balance of the skills between PvE and PvP that certain people on this forum seem hung up on.
I'd also suggest that since a common opinion on this forum is that the current CP system is creating additional stress on the servers in Cyrodiil, this idea may be an opportunity to simplify the CP system for PvP and reduce the amount of server calculations.
I'm sure this thread is going to get shot down in flames by people with far superior knowledge to myself, but it seems like a reasonable idea to me since there is almost certainly going to be a rework of the system anyway.

We are going into the second year of CP freeze. With absolutely no news on what is happening not even a whisper of a time frame, I doubt if it is being looked in to.

    Example.

    PvP champion points.

To make things easier for mathematics let's assume the current cap is 800.

First. Remove all the passives. Most of them have no bearing on PvP anyway.

Then get rid of the three armour categories.

The remaining categories are each on a slider that starts in the middle and you have 400 points available to begin with.

Categories as follows in no particular order.

    Critical resistance
    Spell resistance
    Physical resistance
    Sneak
    Break Free
    Roll Dodge
    Sprint
    Bash
    Spell Penetration
    Physical Peneration
    Critical Damage/Healing - Magic
    Critical Damage/Healing - Stamina
    D.O.T Damage
    Physical/Disease/Poison Damage
    Elemental Damage
    Light/Heavy Stamina
    Light/Heavy Magica
    Staff Expert
    Physical Weapon Expert

(There may be a couple of the existing ones I've forgotten but you get the idea. In fact, you could argue some of the ones listed could also be removed. )

A couple to add that may give some diversity to PvP builds...

    Increase/Decrease distance of ranged abilities.
Increase/Decrease distance you can be hit by ranged abilities (who wouldn't want this one right?)
Increase/Decrease radius you can be detected while sneaking
    Increase/Decrease AOE damage

So. 400 available, all sliders in middle..

If for example you are a bow build, you want to add range to your abilities you slide right and deposit points to add range.
If however you are a melee build, you might want to reduce the distance of your ranged abilities, so you slide right to the left and gain those points back. They are then added to your initial 400, giving you additional points to add to the sections you do want. (It makes sense in my head)

Imagine being fed up of getting ganked from range by a stealth bow build, just stick a load of points into "reduce distance you can be hit from ranged abilities" and all of a sudden they have to be a lot closer to hit you.

So essentially if you pulled every slider to the far left, you would have your 800 points available. But you would have the dilemma of having to implement negative percentages on some sliders as a trade off to get the points required on others.

Obviously the increments/percentage of each category/slider would have to be worked out by the boffins who balance the game.

Not sure any of this would work in a practical sense but it was stuck in my head so I've got rid of it now.

Feel free to destroy this post in a sentence or two.

    ✌️

No it meeds increased, period. Also many people paid to accelerate cp. deleting it would actually be one of those things that could really result in a class action lawsuit to return money deceptively gained. I am one usually to be the first to tell people such a thing is stupid, but in the case of deleting something that was used to sell products and then making that investment pointless, ya that would create a legal risk which would be very hard to defend.
