Good job ZOS! Just did the prologue quest and it looks awesome! Maybe a little bit too bright but understandable.... but otherwise, really immersive and good looking!

I love it! I really, really hope we get a player home down there.

    I disagree.

Aside from being the dullest ‘prologue’ for many years, it also feels the least imaginative design. Compare the turgid washed out bilge tones of Blackreach with any of the game’s other large open spaces and it comes out a poor second.

Think of Fungal Grotto’s lush tones and impressive vistas, Fang Lair’s huge expanse, Darkshade Cavern’s dwarven landscape, or even Southern Elsweyr’s Moonlight Cove. Each of these is more impressive and atmospheric than Blackreach. Better designed, better lit, better use of tone. In contrast Blackreach is a desolate monotonous moonscape populated by a small number of bad ad pulls.

I thought Elsweyr, with its vast range of uninhabited rock, was dull. Blackreach promises to be all that and less, but with a granny blue tint applied.

I think everything in the prologue looked great. I was admiring the furniture and the food on the banquet table in that one room (you know the one), myself, and hoping we'll be able to make those things with blueprints.

Can't wait to visit Solitude. I saw some previews of it in a Youtube video, and it looks amazing already.

I know what you mean, my first time there I pretty much hated it because there are multiple routes to the end and most of those routes can actually be skipped. But once you know the place well, it's an amazing place to re explore.

That red nirnroot quest though! Probably the most skipped quest in the game for most people. 😁

I enjoyed the prologue quest as well and was happy to see Lyris had an option to talk about Sai..lol. I LOVED the new food plates and platters with various food options mixed together. I am hoping these will be available for us to craft or buy for our own homes! Pretty please!

Blackreach is much more enjoyable when you have a map you can look at to go along with your compass. In Skyrim it was painful to navigate and I know lots of people got out as fast as they possibly could.

    Everyone enjoyed ? Not me.

Run 10 meters => 2 shot 2 mobs, rinse, repeat.

Oh wait, there's the final boss. 10 seconds fight, spaming attack only.

Difficulty level -42000. Boring as hell.

New place/graphics and story can't save this lack of challenge beyond understanding.

The worst part is that the whole Skyrim overland will be like this.

Dude it's the prologue. It's meant to be a short introduction to the story, not a challenge. I thought it was really neat.

Separate note, was the bit we got to explore meant to be the same part from Skyrim? Parts of it looked really familiar. That little dock on the river, the gatehouse and walkways over the lake when you enter. It was ringing a lot of bells.

Really enjoyed it and the parts in Eastmarch too. I love the dwarven and glowy mushroom aesthetic and spent a lot of time lustfully looking at the new furniture.

Yeah, it is half of what was in Skyrim. You could see the globe thing that you had to Fus Roh Dah to trigger the dragon glowing just behind the castle walls.

I did the prologue yesterday (cp 600something casual petsorc) and found it rather uninspiring and with some minor bugs and poor performance. I just did it again on NA (lv35 cp0 casual petsorc) to see if it was just server being overloaded but still at least I had to walk in and out of place to use the witch's medallion to actually be able to use it and had Lyris vanishing at portcullis but waiting a bit listening nothing completed the "Listen to Lyris" objective. Difficulty of course trivial with both chars - which is fine for a prologue.

Can't tell from prologue walk thru set version if ESO Blackreach will be better or worse than Blackreach in TES V which I recently replayed a bit. No nostalgia here, TES V version was amazing when I saw it first time but got old fast while collecting red nirnroots.
