    Are you sure about that, OP?

    At least on PCEU, it's actually backwards: Cyrodiil NPCs are affected by performance issues to an extreme degree, far more than human players are.
    NPCs get extreme positional desyncs making them near impossible to hit, but at the same time they are equally unable to hit any players as well :D

    I think I know what he’s talking about. I take resources solo a lot, and sometimes when I get hit with NPC spells it causes my skills to quit working or lag up to 5 seconds or more. Sometimes I can’t even light attack or my character gets stuck in an animation for several seconds.

    I do see this also during large battles with other players, but it is actually worse sometimes with just the handful of NPCs at resources.

    Resources, outposts, towns. If the NPCs glitch out then the server lag triples whether there are other players around or not.

    there is Zero reason to have NPC's in cryodiil.
    they need to be removed.
    they add nothing to pvp nor the lore of Cryodiil.

    Only problem is then people would solo keeps all the time PvDoor style in 30 seconds. But I'd love for ZoS to do some experiments with the NPCs to see if they can fix them. Take them out of a PTS cycle and analyze the performance or something. Definitely their skills need to be updated.

    I guess I am not sure what you mean when you say the NPCs “glitch out”. They are operating normally. It just seems like the skills they use on me cause my character to lag.

    They actually add a fair bit to PVP by delaying players capturing resources and inconveniencing groups capturing keeps and scrolls. Its particularly noticable if you habitually solo resources. I also can't tell you how many times my group ate an NPC Negate at exactly the wrong moment during a fight in an inner keep or under siege fire on a heavily defended doorway.

    Cyrodiil isn't a purely player v player zone a la Deathmatch. NPCs provide a certain level of defense for objectives...when they work properly.
