Better selection on furnishing venders

I don't know about others, but the stock on these venders are pretty bad. Most things are white or green and I think we need a better selection of items to choose from other than weeds, basic trees, bricks, ricks and boards. I would love to see some paintings, potted plants and colorful flowers. Some actual furniture pieces ans lighting. Seems everything is in the crown store for very high prices. It's not right with the amount you already invest in buying a house.

The point of those vendors is to sell the most basic items, some basic building materials and local flora/rocks.

The design is to have actual furniture come from crafting. Specifically paintings are pretty common drops from chests. And if you want pretty flowers that's where ZOS will milk you hard through the Crown Store.

I don't see any of this changing any time soon.

That was kind of the point I was trying to make. The "furnishing" vender is more like a cheap lanscape vender. There is really no furnishing about it. Crafting is great, but plans go for ridiculous amounts of money. I mean there are hundreds and hundreds of items in the crown store and it is not cheap. Some items you can only get through crowns. Surely they can put some things on the venders.

The plans might be expensive but the items themselves are relatively affordable and there are a lof of housing enthusiasts who will craft you stuff if you just provide the materials yourself.

Once again, I think ZOS is pretty happy with the current state of things.

Many of the plans are fairly easy to obtain by running content. The key is to open any and all container objects you can and to also develop your legerdemain skills. I still tend to pick up a new plan most times I run delves or dungeons with a lot of containers. Most are green or blue but I also pickup a reasonable number of purple plans too.

I do agree it would be nice to have a wider range of paintings. I'd really like to be able to take a screen shot and apply it to a picture frame I could hang on the wall. I have also thought that adding gardening would be a good way to allow us to grown furnishing plants.

What's wrong with the item's quality being white or green? 🤨 I love a lot of the stuff they are selling and most of them are cheap to boot. Though I do wish they sold more local flora.

I don't mind the vendors having low quality items, white or the odd green is fine, in fact I prefer that as it gives some value to the stuff you make and find.

My issue is everything is so spread out. You want to put a bed in your room without spending crowns on it, even a rough bed? Good luck with that. Rough desk? Nope - hunt it down...

Even if the vender only had rough stuff that looked battered and not ideal, but they had it, that would be a start, but yes, I don't want to see them replacing finds and crafted furniture either.

The housing vendors sell things that it doesn't make sense to be able to construct - plants, basic building blocks etc. - and some that are just too basic, like washing line poles. However, I do think they could have a wider range of those, instead of putting the majority as crown-only.

I'm happy spending Crowns on costumes, and mounts, and pets, because those aren't items I expect to make in-game. I can buy a mount, which is the only one I might need, for in-game gold, and the store just gives me more cosmetic options.

The game has always encouraged players to craft or support crafters by restricting the quality and or jacking up prices on NPC Vendors. I am surprised that the furniture the base vendors sell is so cheap. Only Achievement and Luxury items are expensive.

As for expensive recipes, some are, most are not. Unless it is a new DLC or Chapter Recipe, if I list it for more than 99 gold, 59 gold being the average, furniture recipes will not sell.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Hate to say this, but maybe there should be a better selection for people who pay a sub, then?

Especially as most people, who don't, probably don't do housing that seriously, anyway, due to the severe lack of slots.

If they did this, it would be an added incentive to sub, for those who don't already, while meaning people, who do anyway, were not being double dipped on quite as much.

Also, it totally depends on which paintings you mean.

A limited selection of them are common drops (or a quest reward, in one case) and so, are cheap as chips.

The others are rare as hens' teeth and their prices reflect that.

Normally, their Crown price (although highly overblown) is better value, going by a typical Crown to gold conversion, than their prices in guild stores.

@LadyDestiny - have you checked the Achievement merchants' selection of items? That is another step up in quality an uniqueness, but you need to complete quests and do other activities to get the achievements needed to unlock the purchases there. Then there is the Luxury merchant available every weekend.
