I got my first 1-piece set item yesterday afternoon in this.

I was wondering where it stands compared to other bow options?

Is it it a good weapon? If so in what circumstances?

It's a fine weapon to use; it's just not currently BiS.
Maelstrom Bow is considered better since Poison Injection got nerfed and so isn't as good as others DoTs; as long as you can weave properly Masters Bow can still provide a DPS increase against your target. It normally goes on back bar because as long as you hit them with Poison Injection while the bows set bonus is active it will carry over the effect to your front bar when you switch.

Poison Injection is a very weak skill atm, master bow works "ok" with it, but Poison Injection can and will also be cleansed very often by half the classes atm, so its just "ok" in PVP and I would advice to use something else.

Definitely an item that has gone in and out of fashion over the last 4-5 years. Problem is that most PVE DPS builds arent using Poison Injection these days, and if they are, it's only in execute. That makes the Maelstrom bow a much better option because everybody still uses hail all day every day.

If you use PI in PVP, it becomes a pretty compelling back bar option. Whether you run PI in PVP is the real question. I wouldnt run it just because you have the bow, but if you already run it, the bow probably merits a slot. You just need to make sure you actually focus the guy you hit with PI. Haha

Thanks guys. Well, obviously I'm going to keep it. It would be foolish not too. And with all the storage chests unlocked, I've lots of plenty of room to store it.

We'll see where it stands later.

You can also run venom arrow, it helps interupting rezes and long range snipes. Altho might not be enough to warrant a skill slot if you dont usually run bow backbar in pvp.

PI is kind of junk now. I use venom arrow and infused masters bow in PvP. Works very well. I switch to back bar alot even before venom arrow runs out, just to LA for the extra damage and I reapply venom arrow just because. I also use potentates back bar here and there as well. This is from a PvP perspective though. Maelstrom bow is back to being BiS in PvE I believe.
