What is with all the "rules" in regards to customization?

I understand some things, like avoiding clipping. But the shield of Senchal motif is a perfect example of the non sense from the devs. Why cant we lower our mask on the heavy armor? There is no reason for stuff like this. Im just running around with my face guard UP? LOL why?
Or how we can't have a full beard with the eye patch option in the character creator. You can buy one of the long beards later and do it that way, but that leaves out the other 10 to 15 facial hair options. It makes no sense. There is literally nothing restricting them from letting us have these little QoL options. NOTHING. There wont be clipping, for example, if i have a beard with the eye patch. It doesnt impact helmets or any thing else. I just dont understand why devs do crap like this. It isnt just in this game btw.

    They really need to further split some of the categories. Why are the Blind Eyes counted towards Facial Hair? Why can't a Bosmer have both antlers and facial hair, but only one or the other? Some of it just makes no sense whatsoever.

    Absolutely. I cannot understand why devs do this crap in SO MANY games. It is inexcusable.

    I blame it on the hip flippity flaps taking up Rendering Resources not letting us put more things on our heads.

    Agreed. They really need to make toggle for visor up/down. As well fix clipping issues. Its like they model stuff on one character dummy and yolo it out.

    Fully agreed. That, and why the heck are things like eyepatches and jewelry linked to haircolor? Why cant we take these into the dye stations like everything else? It makes no sense at all. How does it take more time for them to let me dye a hat vs a piece of jewelry?

    Because the render time is already pretty bad and adding multiple layers of customization will slow it down even more.

    There is a base of you char model.
    Then your face id from customization.
    hair.
    hats.
    Major adornments.
    Minor adornments.
    Tattoos.
    Skins.

    This all has to layer on top of each other with transparency and exact placement. Adding more would just slow down the rendering engine and you would have black shadows everywhere until they pop in.

    It's just a technical limitation of the rendering engines used
    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Every layer added to the model is an added hit to performance. With the abysmal performance of the game currently, it can't afford added customization layers.

    Ummm we still do have an option to map "dismiss pet" hotkey on Mages, visor toggle button??

    I think TES: V needed the Skyrim Script Extender and the Skeleton replacer in order to create a ton more body slots for appearance. The devs are focused more on content and making the game run over expanding the cosmetic versatility.

    Then add 2 helmets. One with it up, one with it down. Since it's a motif, you dont need it in your inventory. You could just go to outfit creation and change as you want. It's better than nothing.

    I feel an update to character creation and customization is in order. They keep giving us new tutorials every year but the character creator remains the same. Allowing us to use hair and beard styles and face and body markings and adornments from the crown store, we should also be able to choose just about any color from a color wheel for hair (and eye, possibly) color. And to allow different combinations of adornments and what not. Sure we can always change it in collectibles menu but, I'd like to be able to see what a character looks like with different selections for everything g in the character creator before I make them because it might determine whether I want to bother going through with making what I envision in my head or not.

    Especially when the "facial hair" is eyelashes.

    As if eyelashes (of any kind) are an optional extra.

    Obviously, false lashes should be an optional extra, but just normal ones?

    I love those blind eyes but am not willing to forgo the other options to have them.

    ESO is sorely in need of a character creation update, it's been 6 years already..
    All over Tamriel, theres a sudden spike in Bosmers getting caught for their crimes. A sad day indeed... #FightForYourRite Give Bosmers back our stealth!

    there are a couple of things which do not make any sense - like why are my khajiits removing their hats when crafting but other races don't with the same hats. Makes no sense at all.

    I don't know why my Khajiit cant have facial hair and ear tips. The same thing when using the blind eyes which apparently means you don't get to have facial hair at all.

    imagine people complaining about fashion...when the biggest issue is the damn lag that happens after 5 pm CET on EU...srls...also leave shields of senchal alone...we finally got an awesome shield that is actually a shield and not a hand platter! but I agree with the lowering of the face mask...would had been awesome but also useless...imagine having to code stuff that goes automatically in and out of combat...like lower when u start combat and rise when u go out...imagine people will want more stuff after that...like having skins turn on while u in combat and off while out...my point...u cant make every1 happy and right now id be happy to do my damn progress runs with 70 ping again instead of some crap btw 130-300...that is unacceptable.
