Mat stealing from other players issue

Gonna tell something and you call it cry or trash i cannot care less because i am not here to please your needs for being big boss narcissist attitude or safe ass right now.
So: i strictly stand against the frequent issue in this game called mat stealing.
How can you steal some mat from me?
Simply by arriving to it after me, in the moment i stood in front of it obviously ready to pick it up, and using your faster internet to get it instead of me.
And don't call it competition and don't call it "not my problem that your system sucks".
These are trash reasons. Very weak ones!
Imagine being in the shop in the queue for cashier behind an old person who isn't that fast as you and needs more time to put the food at the track; would it be fair to push in front of them stealing them queue because of that and buying some time like that?
No?
Then stop doing that to the people in the game.
Yes?
Check your sanity, because with such selfish attitude you will get your ass spanked one day, sooner or later! Hopefully. - So how does your selfishness actually served to you then, any idea??
+
I am aware that there is no ZoS rule about that because it's a game and such things cannot be proven, but i am reminding you to use a common sense if you have a brain for that.
And to do the most simply thing possible: turn around and find yourself another mat once you saw someone stepped before you to pick it up.
Hope i was clear.
There's no Higher... not outside the man.

That's not what's happening. On your screen it looks like they arrived after you, but on their screen they were there first. This is an unavoidable byproduct of latency in the synchronization of player positions.

So, according to the server, they got there first and looted the node.

I’ve always thought it made them look a little sad, as in getting that node was more important than manners. That desperate for loot? Obviously you need it more than me, bless your heart.

On occasion I’ve completely spaced out and walked up to a node someone else was at, or maybe they were obscured from my angle of approach. When that happens I back up immediately so as they don’t think I’m trying to ninja the node from under their nose. If it’s a chest, I’ll cheer when they get it open, if it takes a few attempts. Manners over loot ;)

I think English is probably your second language? I can't judge though since I couldn't even manage two sentences solidly in another language :D Anyway many of us feel your frustration. Node stealing (I think that's what your referring too) is all too common. Would be nice if they made nodes separate for each player but then im sure there's some horrific issue on why that would be beyond dumb lol. Best I can say? Get Cowards gear, transmute to swift jewelry, Steed mundus, and go run like the wind in high density node areas to farm. You still will get beat to a node at times...but we all beat others and get beat.

What you are really saying is they accessed the node before you so they legitimately harvested the node. That is not stealing regardless of how you want to spin it. The game design is whoever accesses the node first gets to harvest it unless they release the node. That is a FACT.

You can pre-emptively dismiss us by suggesting we are providing trash reasons but that does not change the fact that they accessed the node first, hence stole nothing. Blame it on your internet all you want but that is not a problem other players need to be concerned with.

Regardless, it’s still rude to harvest a node right under someone’s nose. Unless it’s an obvious bot, after you’ve given them a questionable meat snack, of course.

but the other person IS NOT harvesting it under your nose. it just LOOKS like that.
on your screen, you are first at the node.
on the other persons screen, they are first at the node.
the server decides who actually was first, and that person is the one harvesting.
exception is, is you were already standing there for a good 5 seconds, but in that case, why didn't you loot sooner?

So, according to this logic. I can stand at a node, open my map stare at it for any given amount of time; seconds, to hours - as long as I am there first, and at the node. I can claim anyone to harvests that node that I am clearly at, I can label a thief due to moral high ground of being there first.

    Neato.

You are wrong. Both of you are going for the same node. One person gets their first. What is rude is suggesting they are stealing your mats right under your nose just because you were slower than they were.

I recall going to harvest a node. Another player tried to get the same node but had to go through, and agro, a group of mobs just to get to the node about the same time I did. I harvested, they probably could not since they were being attacked, and they subsequently sent me a hate tell for stealing their node. An obvious example of someone who was out of touch with reality as I legitimately beat them to the node.

Edit: It was also explained very well by @r3turn2s3nd3r that it merely appears that they arrived late when in fact they arrived just before you. The server telling you the player's position is just behind their actual movement.

So both you and the OP are very incorrect.

It's not yours until it is in your character inventory.

I agree in this scenario. However when people wait till you get attacked then take the node or chest...kinda trasy.

This, my wife and I play side by side and the number of times we turn and say "hey" - In Cyro we can ride "side by side" on her screen she is in front and I am behind and on my screen I am in front. It is just the way it is.

There are mats everywhere - move on, find another node.

I assume you are speaking of a node that cannot be harvested without getting aggro because the NPC is right on top of it. For that, I agree. However, that is not what OP is talking about.

Also, the example I gave in an earlier post was not the same. The node is not near the mobs. The other player ran through the mobs to try to beat me to the node. Their hateful tell was laughable.

I have 2 PS4s' with 2 screens right next to eachother. On them, me and my wife can run from one place to another. She will appear ahead of me, and to me, I will appear ahead of her. That is what is happening with nodes, chests, etc.

Er, no, there’s no correct or incorrect, it’s subjective opinion. And ugh, I can’t believe I have to spell it out what I’m talking about for you and others:

    1) I’m (and I’m speaking as what I find rude, I’m not speaking for the OP) not talking about the two of you racing to a node (though honestly I find this a bit uncouth anyhoo and will just look for another node, there’s plenty) and you getting there first. If someone is at a node, and they hesitate for a half a second for whatever reason, say, they have an itch to scratch or they sneezed, whatever, gobbling it up.
    2) Related to the first (and infinite eyerolls that I have to spell it out): this doesn’t mean that someone can just park on a node indefinitely. If someone is nearish a node, I’ll wait a bit, to see if they’re going to grab it or not. Enough time for a scratch, a sneeze, whatever. If they don’t budge, I’ll go for it. Unless they’re right on the node, because meh, there are a ton more nodes out there and I’m not so desperate that I need to pick every one.

Yes my “rules” are arbitrary and subjective, because duh, it’s about my subjective opinion. Y’all trying to argue that my subjective opinion is wrong :D

And yes, nodes aren’t owned, blah blah blah. I still prefer to be courteous. But whatever, we all have are pet peeves. Just don’t tell someone their pet peeve is wrong. 🙄
