There are alot of people that are sheltered in place because alot of new players will be playing the game in the next couple of weeks. What better way to get them hooked on the crafting bag etc...?

I'm a subscriber but I would support this - let people check out ESO+ for a while -- not just a week the advantages of it take a little time to experience - maybe 14 days or 3 weeks.

Yes lets fuel peoples addiction to gambling, cash shops and making the game a worse while people are scared, sick, or not really in a great sound of mind. That is a perfect time to have a discount on cash shop items while a Pandemic is going on.

I get it that some of you don't like the game or want to support it. I doubt you will ever find a game that meets your utopian requirements. Some of us love the game and support it and we will still be here buying crates or buying subscriptions.

Panic really isn't a good way to deal with the current events. Turn off the fake news and play ESO. Have some fun and remain calm, everything will be fine.

This logic here is the problem. To even suggest that the cash shop is supporting the game is laughable, it ignores history, and also ignores where all that money comes from.

The Cash shop just makes the game worse, picture if they had to make money through just DLC sells, how much bigger and better the DLCS would be? The expansions this game offers are weak compare to other mmos, and cost about the same amount.

Cash shop makes the MMO worse, it breaks people and adds addictions, loot box on top of cash shop. WTF.

Ubisoft are making Assassin's Creed Odyssey free to play for this weekend. They are even letting you pre-load it. Imagine that.

Honestly in the times of quarantines I think making twitch drops permanently active is the better call. That doesn't hurt ZOS as much as free ESO+ would and it helps ESO content creators and gives us something to do while we are forced to stay at home. It's a win-win-win, as ZOS gets free publicity for big traffic on Twitch.

I'm kinda surprised that the game industry haven't yet reacted with a sales-spree while the virus is hammering the population and many people staying at home atm - at least in Europe.

Players in difficult situations should be comforted/rewarded in ESO for being a part of ESO, not for being a part of Twitch. Your suggestion is of no value to the many players who do not have Twitch accounts or any interest in doing so.

Twitch is a conduit for ESO. Bethesda has a channel there and ESO streams on it all the time. It 100% free and if you don't want to look on twitch, don't.

I think their idea is way better than forcing potentially unemployed workers to spend money they may need for toilet paper on crown crates.

Got any better suggestions then? They can't just pull a new and fun event out of their sleeves just like that, so getting people to come together on ESO Twitch streams is the most being-part-of-ESO thing they can do on a whim.

I'd be perfectly happy with a limited ESO+ trial (limited so as not to cause issues with those who pay constantly for ESO+), a Crown sale, or opening up all DLC content for a limited time, anything really that is more directly related to ESO rather than a third-party site however popular that site might be with ESO players and developers.

In any event, I'm not actually persuaded that any such initiative is either warranted or wise just because of the present external situation, not least in the light of the ongoing performance issues that some players are experiencing and which would not be helped by attracting additional players onto the servers at this time. If there was to be such an initiative, however, I would prefer it to be based solely within ESO.
