CPU Overheating Issues

Wondering if these new patches/builds has affected anyone else's cpu temps. Every time I run this game my cpu temps climb to near 70c.
I have a water cooled system and GPU stays around 35c, so is not my cooling system issues. Have played other games with no heating issues.
Seems bad coding somewhere is this game.

My CPU is running the same temps.

Perhaps the thermal paste on your cpu went bad, this happens from time to time. And, liquid cooling fluid does need to be replaced periodically and air does need to be bleed from the system.

Nestor has suggested good possibilities. Many of us watch the temps of our PC because it is a good indicator that the system is operating properly or issues that are developing and we are not experiencing anything unusual.

As far as other games, some games are not as taxing on the CPU as ESO is. ESO has always pushed my PC more than most other games.

My CPU and GPU are water cooled running GTX1080. I did turn on vertical sync which keeps my FPS at 60 which brought down the utilization a lot but even with it turned off running 100-120 fps at 100% utilization on GPU (CPU never really hits past 50% with this game) i don't go past 60c. Sounds like you may need some more heat sink paste. Also if you have moved your PC recently it may be worth checking that the cooler connected to your CPU is fully connected. One time I had heat issues after moving and found one of the clips broke that held the heatsink on the CPU. Easy to replace and cheap cost like $5 for 12 of them.

Fluid is about 6 months running with no air issues.
I plan to re-paste and change fluid soon, just hard to believe this game can raise temps so high.
As soon as I quit the game, temps dropped back to mid 30's and stay there.
I fired up another game and temps never rose above 50's.
    Thx for the input.

What's interesting is when my temps climbed, I checked and my cpu usage was around 60%, so when I checked the processes running, Minion was causing it to climb. I know there have been issues with add-ons recently, but never thought minion would be the issue.

Running windows, check the latest security updates. My comp ran hot and lagged because the service host was clogging up the cpu. Updated twice and it has been fine. Looked to me from other posts on the net it was a known issue

You are mentioning using applications and tasks that are not related to the game. Minion and updating your PC are not part of the game services. So if your PC is operating fine when they are not running and especially if windows updates rectified the issue then it is not an ESO issue.

Surprised Minion was such a hog...i frequently fire it up while in game to update or add a new addon. But i shut it down after. I will look at CPU usage on my machine while doing this.

Anyway, you want as few applications running as possible when gaming not just for performance reasons, but hardware sanity too.

I even use a laptop for all other computing stuff when gaming.
