Our first fight of the DLC dungeon competition pits daedra vs. necromancers as CRADLE OF SHADOWS battles UNHALLOWED GRAVE! Will Velidreth bring glory to her mistress Mephala? Or will Kjalnar Tombskald show why the Gray Host is the Gray Most? YOU DECIDE!

A list of the overall action for BOTH the base and DLC competitions can be found HERE, so people can get a quick glance at the overall action.

All fights will go for TWO DAYS and end at 8PM CST (or your timezone equivalent; figure it out) so this one will end on March 16th.

Unhallowed Grave

You heard it here first, Unhallowed Grave is set to win the DLC dungeon competition. Novelty, hidden bosses, more forgiving fights, grappling used as fight mechanics... Lair of Maarselok would be a close second for me, but it's a bit too long and not as purely entertaining as I've found Unhallowed Grave to be.

Lorewise i like cradle more, but art, mechanics, currently unhallowed, and cradle i run much more, so have less hype towards it.

Unhallowed Grave

Unhallowed Grave is one of the most fun and unique dungeons in the entire game, hands down. It's secret bosses the game never tells you about is so fun, as well as the mechanics of the crossbow you use to navigate and use during boss fights.

Cradle of Shadows

Hard choice. Unhallowed's secret bosses are top tier content, and the slowing in Cradle can be real annoying... but Velidreth's design alone is a whole lot of plus points for me (boo for how recycled Unhallow is aesthetic-wise) and I appreciate the type of mechanics more in CoS. While I think Unhallowed Grave did a lot of things right, I feel more creativity in CoS.

There's also personal bias involved, as I have super fond memories of long OOB explorations in CoS, and it's quite gorgeous and vast out there in the spiral skein... Quest is nice too.

Unhallowed Grave

Cradle of Shadows traumatized me from all DLC dungeons for several months. The group I ran it with was great, but none of us knew squat about the mechanics. The last boss in particular was an incredibly awful experience because none of us understood the insta-kill mechanic. I still avoid that damned dungeon, even though I sort of know some of the mechanics now...

@Starlock they uber nerfed the mechanic, it is now like vDoM first boss jump. Slow telegraphed 1 circle. Even in hm.

CoS is very unforgiving on the last boss with PUGs, whereas you can have interesting mechanics yet finish Unhallowed Grave.

Funny thing, I quit the game for 2 years after CoS and RoM dropped. Felt like a DLC with 2 dungeons and no zone wasn't worth my sub (the 2 previous ones had been Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, which also came with tiny zones). So my memories of CoS are not the best.

I really love CoS but my vote goes to Unhallowed. The mechanics are fun, the hidden bosses are a great touch, and CoS is unnecessarily long with too many annoying stun mechanics.

Unhallowed Grave

Cradle of Shadows was the first DLC dungeon I did the Challenger achievement for. I avoid it to this day.

Although it has a good story, a unique aestetic, and interesting mechanics.

Unhallowed Grave is kind of meh, storywise but the secret bosses, the "How much grappling do you want? Yes!" approach, and the visuals (I like Redguard stuff) make up for that. Also, The Thing at the end, even though its effects are really underwhelming.

Not fair... CoS has been around for ages, whereas Unhallowed Grave is brand new and has those cool new mechanics. I voted for Cradle, because that particular dungeon used to be my absolute nightmare and has become one of my favorites over the time. Plus: the end boss is a cutie! ... dat ass! O_O

I find CoS more challenging than UG, at least back in the days.
Visually I also prefer the Cradle, darkness effect very special.
You can get skin from CoS, for me, this is more valuable than any cosmetic reward from UG.

Unhallowed Grave
A dungeon is too easy to be fun. Even HM is not hard with semi-competent PUG. This is ruining all fun for me.
The appearance of a giant skeleton - just WOW, looks great. Coolest thing in the dungeon, but he is don't have any interesting mechanics.
I'm not impressed by grappling at all. Not saying this is bad mechanics, but not good either.
