Don't expect anything like empathy from MMO players. That's rarer than aetherial dust. MMOs attract people who are tired of being required to be polite and restrained in face to face encounters and want to take out their frustrations on some strangers who can't do anything about it. Best thing you can do is turn off chat in game and avoid the forum until this goes away, but there will always be some crappy thing that people think means they have to show off how edgy they can be.

I very much agree with you that everyone is responsible for their actions.
The fundamental difference between your examples and what I was talking about is, that bullying and accusing and blaming is a direct action towards a person, whereas making general jokes or posting memes that are not targetting anyone personally is a completely different story.
1 - depends on the joke, and the recipient. It will get less funny when we get to the point where people just lost a loved parent/grandparent to COV-19. Which sadly is pretty much inevitable to happen to some people sooner or later - despite we all hoping that it will not happen often, that the whole thing will be contained and meds developed before it gets too bad. (Of course, the same happens with the common flu every year, so...)It seems there are big amount of eso-corona memes and jokes going around. For many reasons, could we stop them or could you restrcit them to private chats, because 1. they not funny 2.it is serious situation.
