Next Class Representative Update?

The last update on the Class Representatives was when @ZOS_GinaBruno posted the new faces that would join the team. In that thread, Gina stated they would be moving back to having regular meetings and post public meeting notes soon. While I know this group operates under an NDA, we previously received updates with their NDA in place, and the message from Gina indicated more would come.

That was July 2019, about 8 months ago? Will we hear from this group soon? Is the group still active in a meaningful way?

Below is the link to Gina's last message on the subject. At least the last one I could find.
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/486609/class-rep-program-update/p1

I am not trying to stir the pot with Zos. Just honestly asking because we used to get updates more frequently than I have seen recently and understand I may have missed some updates since I do not see everything.

I keep forgetting class reps are a thing. I get reminded every few months but it's so quiet on that front I tend to forget about it.

The gameplan since Summerset has been to keep promising updates long enough to push out the next Chapter. First it was Dragons & Cats Chapter and now the Skyrim nostalgia Chapter.

Once the Chapter is released and we've all bought it all promises are forgotten.

Sorry for the cynicism, but does anyone think a class representative will make an iota of difference? The concept always seemed like a PR ruse to me. Maybe some good intentions, but ZOS had no real heart for it. More like another layer of insulation from its customers under the guise of communication.

It seems many have given up on the class rep program. It is hard to see them as an active group, let along effective, due to the silence. That is why I created this thread. I figure it will lead to us finding out if they are still active or not.

While this might be true, it would be professional of them to address the program in an official capacity, whether on this thread or posted on a new thread. A lot of us looked forward to those notes [snip]

Actually, their initial meeting is still in session, so they have nothing to report yet.

Hopefully there will be something when they start working on the CP system revisions. That has the potential to bring some fairly substantial changes to the game.

I've been wondering about this for a while too. I know at least some of the class reps are trying to gather feedback from the player base, which they presumably pass on the ZOS in one way or another. Anything beyond that is a mystery, which kinda defeats the purpose. It doesn't make me feel confident that my voice is being heard by the devs if we don't actually hear occasional feedback from the devs on issues that have gone unaddressed for such long periods of time.

I mean this in the most respectful way possible to the class reps, but it feels like ZOS really just wants a group of volunteer babysitters to deal with the crying of the playerbase so ZOS doesn't have to deal with it. I really hope that's not the case, but that's how it feels to me.

I would love to see the program revitalized and even expanded with more players who specialize in specific roles for specific classes and a focus on making sure that the broad community can at least see which concerns have been passed on and some indication of the dev responses to those concerns.

Right now though, we're just back to where we were before ZOS promised to improve communication.

Considering the silence from Zos and any class reps we have no reason to think they are terribly active. It is like the first group they formed. It just went silent until Zos decided to try to revitalize the group. Maybe I am wrong but we can only go off of what we see happening. Or in this case, that we do not see any activity from this group.

It's unfortunate that transparency and open communication still hasn't become the norm from Zos, despite Gina saying they would start being more communicative. However given the fact that what they say they're going to do(in regards to updates fixing things) and what actually happens being two very different things, I guess they've taken the attitude to not say anything rather than take verbal lashing they get when failing to meet their own goals.

I remember class reps themselves used to argue who did what... Anyway, I think the intentions were good on both sides, but probably hard to maintain or be useful. It seems like there are so many people involved with only few having power to veto/release something.

i thought they removed the class rep aspect of it early on and renamed em then basically scrapped it all. The reps seemed pretty mad ZoS wouldnt listen to em anyways

    Pretty much this, in bold.

Zos never seemed to care about the pain points brought up by the class reps, and often flat out ignored problems some changes to skills would bring to each class. The "DoT meta" clearly comes to mind. I remember at the time, Alcast clearly said every class rep was against it, but that made zero difference in the end...Zos did what Zos wanted to do. No amount of feedback, from reps or players, changed thier mind.

While the program had good intentions, I'm sure, kind of seems pointless at this point. Why gather info on pain points if it's just going to be ignored anyway? It's pure PR at this point...trying to give the impression that they are listening when in fact they never have.

To be honest I stopped paying any attention to it after the DOT debacle, but if I remember correctly they were a rep around the same time as Taeser.

They may still be for all I know, but it doesnt seem to be a program that bridges the gap between ZOS and the players though so I dont pay as much attention anymore.

I think they redid the class reps into essentially a “yes man” group. All like minded people who don’t want to say no.

The system exists for PR, not to actually give feedback.

Eh, I would care more about the class rep program if ZOS consistently used the program to its potential. Instead, ZOS too often uses the class rep program as a means to placate the community.

I don't get this. Why does the class rep program even exist in the first place?
All feedback is summarily ignored by ZOS in any case.

With all due respect to the class reps, this reeks of being purely a PR puppet show.
Why else would ZOS set up so-called "class reps", only to ignore anything and everything they say?
I have no doubt that you guys act in the best interests of the collective playerbase, but that doesn't actually accomplish any good when your input/feedback is completely ignored.

Many parallels to real-world politics and governments come to mind here - but that is one can of worms which is best left unopened.
