Like in my nation 29.4% from 18 to 64 use drugs and there are 1250 dying from drugs. Thats 23.000.000 drug users and 1250 dead people every year.
We have 130 dead babies on 670000 births a year.
We have 20000 dead people from common flu each year
We have 750 people dying at work or on the way to or from work.
We have 3200 people dying in car accidents each year
And so on...
And *drummroll* we have 1250 infected people and 2 deaths.
A real epidemic looks like this: From 1918 to 1920 25 to 50.000.000 people died from the spanish flu. Assuming the lower number thats 12.5 million per year or 1 million a month or 250000 a week. And how long is Covid out now ?

✭Having events that convince people to stay at home where they might go out otherwise is a really good idea tbh. Bonus if it's a Peryite event!
But yeah, my concern is also the stress on the servers, and if the ZOS staff gets sick... Nobody needs to even die, it's enough for 20% of a company's staff to be bedridden at the same time for this to be disastrous, and epidemiologists are warning that 70-80% of people are likely to be infected. The more people are in contact with each other, the greater the likelihood they will be sick all at once, rather than over an extended period.

Pretty much this. Shops can get rid of their old stocks at least. People watch to much The Walking Dead etc. Panic won't help, just wash your hands, don't travel if you absolutely don't have to, if you feel ill don't wait, go to the nearest medical center, stay calm. Panic makes things only worse.I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.1 -

COVID can have very light or even no symptons on people, and it is very contagious. You can't tell for sure if someone next to you have it, and one sneez can mean the fall of you
we Chinese got it under control by strict quarantine and temperature check point everywhere (it came with cost of course, but it's effective), yet most western countries does not seem to care until it's too late. Iran, Italy, SK have all fallen to the virus, be prepared, when your government tell you to act it would be too late3 -

✭✭✭✭✭Most of us will be expected to be working and/or completing coursework from home if we are in an area under quarantine/lockdown. This isn’t an extended vacation of sitting around the house looking for entertainment.
For many of us it will mean an increased workload while we enact and oversee policy changes related to a remote workforce, coordinate coverage for sick team members, monitoring and adapting to the ever-shifting recommendations of the CDC and WHO for our companies and departments, tamping down the panic (and toilet paper hoarding?!) that the media is inciting.
Those of you in universities will find that some of your professors will increase workload and scrutiny of your work for classes that have suddenly become online. Partially because they weren’t prepared to teach remotely and will struggle to adapt, and partially to combat bias against online learning.

More people die of the regular yearly flu than will die from this. On top if it, this seems to have a devasting effect on the elderly with other medical conditions. Most others will come through it just fine, albeit miserable for a week or so.

Magenpie✭✭✭✭✭I think it's also important to remember that players and forum users are made up of people from many different countries. What's happening in yours, and around you and your rl family and friends isn't necessarily the same as other people posting.
And at risk of sounding revoltingly earnest, what's happening is quite possibly going get very scary - not just from a health point of view, but from a financial one too. It could well get very [snip] and horrible irl for your fellow gamers. I'm all for dark/gallow's humour, but when it comes to flinging around accusations and a lack of sympathy, maybe now is not the time?
This is very likely to affect us all directly. It would be great if, for once, we didn't just all revert to being [snip] at each others throats, and maybe show a little empathy and support for our fellow gamer-types.
