If you don't have access to Infalliable Aether, Martial Knowledge or Elegant set might be a good substitute.

I beat VMA on my Stamblade a few days ago and finally got the bow (I think there's a chance that they skew your drops based on your stats). That being said... I'll never get flawless conqueror on him.

Nope it's pure RNG. But if you do maelstrom on other classes then sorc you are almost guaranteed a golden weapon from weekly leaderboard. Especially warden and necro

Critical surge is 3.3K heal every second since any of your skills can crit and spell critical is quite high. And you have and 11.5K shield. So in 5s you can heal back to full behind that shield. It's more than enough. If you have trouble surviving you can take the Matriarch morph, but personally I didn't feel I needed it so I'm sticking with Tormentor. And yes, most mobs die before you can do a full rotation of them because they have such low HP.

From my experience what works for dungeons and world bosses, works for Maelstrom too. I just finished it last week-end on my 12th character; now I've done it on every class, magicka and stamina. It's a maturity exam of sorts for my characters.

Still i would never recommend that build for low cp or beginner players. You dont need 50k dps for maelstrom if your not aiming for all time leaderboard ranks

You can make a decent DD build on a character that's otherwise built like tank by using attribute+attribute recovery type food and DD gear.

This is what i would run on warden. I did a similar run just with warden pet but its not that good anymore.

Its nice that everyone enjoys this build as much as i did. Its strikingly easy and powerfull, also you can run it basically from lvl 10 to max cp more or less on every content.

Lightning Wall (either morph) ensures that Off-Balance uptime is pretty much the same thing as Concussed uptime.

But if you're not using a Charged staff, what gets Concussed uptime high?

Shock glyph + torugs = 100% concussed uptime

Try out the build, you would be surprised how smooth maelstrom is with it.

As i already told you it extremly cheap. You could throw the build togther for less then 30k gold.
Did you read what i was writing? Weapon glyphs gold, body can all be purple arcane until you have the money to upgrade it.
If your really really struggling to get 30k gold together for 1 golden torugs staff go all purple and it will cost you only 10k or less.

Hello there,

Just a quick reply to say that I had great fun adapting this to my main character, a mDK.

I had my first clear over vMA without any serious struggle. I cheesed my way a while ago as a pet sorc spamming shield so I guess what I learnt made it even easier on top of the great quality of the build.

I ran wrothgar world bosses solo (or almost as player somtimes joined in at the end of a fight) without problems.

I second what has been told about crushing shock and the argonian behemoth. Be mindful of interrupting him or you could ruin a flawless run.

As I said just use purple magicka ones and put some attribute points into health.
The best thing for you would be to send the build to a crafter in one of your guilds buy 3 blue necro jewelry and 2 body and let him craft the rest for you. Asking people for help when your still new is the most important thing to get started in this game.

i've used this setup up until the very last round. Came close twice to finishing vma but just can't tank all the damage. The problem is lack of sustain / resources and damage output while spamming shield just to keep alive. With the lag and skills not firing, it makes it extremely difficult to complete. I've been one shotted several times just at the start of the last round. Then if I make it to the upper level, I get immediately knocked off the upper level with a skull and back down I go.

Alcast's video makes it look real easy but it isn't. He makes great suggestions but trying to follow them while engaging in total chaos is real challenging on the end of the very last round. I would really like the return of the old pet sorc...damn I miss it. The magsorc in general just feels like a wet noodle. I'm considering a new build with magden. I've also tried stamdem WW but dies all the time on the Lamia round...too much over lapping poison zones.
