As we all know, ZOS only cares about $$$ and the casual quester is the target audience. So what is making you all stay? Those of you that aren't just here on the forums watching them burn....

I enjoy playing the game. I have fun when I do, so I stay. If I don't then I take a break, and check back in a few weeks or month. Rinse. Repeat.

Because I had fun in the beta. Game came out, I had fun. Game unfortunately went buy to play, I was still having fun. After multiple chapters and additional content, I'm still having fun, so I'm still playing.
I have a sneaking suspicion if they split pve from pvp and opened a separate instance of Cyrodiil with the daedric invasion but no pvp I'd have even more fun, but its good as it. When it stops being fun, I'll stop playing.

Because I like to play the game. The combat is what separates eso from most other games out there, for me.

I'm perfectly fine with ZOS making content for casual questers, it doesn't bother me at all. As long as I can play the content that I enjoy i don't see a problem.

Friends and the Aesthetic. That is basically all. Combat isn't really all that great, and boss mechanics are too easy.

Between the above opinions/feelings, I come and go. Currently I have been playing other things since nothing has really improved to keep me engaged with the actual game play.

Alot of people I know have the feeling that leaving means loosing out on years of investment. So many have spent a small fortune (both in real life and game gold) in many aspects of the game. Then outside of the specific combat related issues, there's the extensive achievement aspect that is still very doable even inspite of the performance issues. At this point...it has become so dismal performance wise, that I tend to view ESO as a cooldown game. I dabble in PvP just for AP gain and skill point gains, to cringe at the players that have become connected to it like the Matrix and have become obsessive lol, and to play with friends for a bit. Then I'll aim for some small side achievements here and there in PvE land or have fun designing in housing. Then if I'm in a serious competitive PvP mood I'll go play another game that I can take seriously because it responds to my imput.

Because I love Elder Scrolls. Because ESO is a beautiful game with deep stories made by passionate people. Because it caters to everyone as much as you can cater to everyone at once in an online multiplayer game (where everyone must be playing exactly same game and you can't change things you don't like with mods or just iddqd through stuff)

Because for me, problems and all, the game has sooooo much to offer and I'm having a lot of fun.

I came from WoW over a year ago and while their games runs smooth, they still have crappy patches with bugs, zones are empty, old zones are irrelavant, new contact sucks, there is nothing to do but grind dailies, graphics are cartoony and outdated and you think these devs are bad you haven't seen anything.

I dont lol... after that stupid Scalebreaker patch, (that ruined class identity in game and broke PVE end game in a way that content became a lot less challenge), and that ridiculous Dragonhold patch in which they promissed that they would fix queue only to ruin game performance even more I gave up... I came back to wow and have been having a lot of fun without getting stressed with game issues like I had with ESO. But its funny to see all the *** going on here on foruns though

It is a fun game to play. There is far more stuff to do than I have done, so if I do quit the game, it will be because I don't want to play, not because I ran out of things to do.

It's a game. I don't take it seriously. I don't take it personally. If I don't think I will have fun doing PVP, or Veteran dungeons, or PUGs, then I don't do that stuff. If I don't want to do max DPS and feel like doing 20k DPS, then I do 20k DPS. If I don't feel like doing writs, I don't do writs.

Basically, I log into the game and do what sounds fun to do. There always seems to be something I can be doing. Maybe I just check my mail and log out. Maybe I quest. Maybe I solo some dungeons. Maybe I collect mats and sell them. Whatever.

Wow has issues and the current exp is a lot worst then what the game heve been in the past. Still, it a really fun game with chalenging and fun content to play. Also, I never saw people having issues like massive crashes, Dysyncs all over the place, getting DC for spamming a skill or having resources not recharging like they should... Even the 8.3 patch that had a lot of bugs was not even close to that, lol... ESO only delivers content for roleplayers right now and those issues I said are only the ones that came with the current patch, cuz I could stay all day here talking about the issues I had when I played the game lol

You just answered your own question as far as I am concerned. :p

I love the universe of Elder Scrolls, and this game offers so much of Tamriel and beyond to explore and quest in...

Well, partially because I enjoy casual questing. I've been going through SWTOR, and maybe I'll do the Serious Business content in it one day, but probably not. I'm here for the same reason I play single-player RPGs or read books.

I've also found, though, that with a good guild I do enjoy vet dungeons, trials, Cyrodiil, etc. I like quite a few things about the way this game is implemented better than other games I've played. I still have a lot of things I enjoy doing, or want to do. Then again, I've only been playing for 11 months. How will I feel this time next year? Who can say?

Well m8, if you have played the game last year this should be pretty obvious right now... They removed skins from DGs achievements; VSS trial is a lot easier than the prevoious ones; they stopped making new challenging PVE end game content for Q3 like we had in 2017, 2018 (BRP and VAS trial)...
Not to mention that DGs got overall a lot easier and less interesting... I mean with the exception of Frostvault, last year DGs are not even the shadow of 2018 Dgs..
But they added a lot of game stuff U can buy now with money, house crown store itens are always coming, together with new quests and all... New pets and mounts for the roleplayer quest maker have fun

To have fun. The most fun I have had since my City of Heroes/ Villains days on my Dark Miasma+Thug cult style villain.

Yes, even with the icky issues from the past and random ones popping up still having a blast. Of course, when I find issues, I report it, and still push through. If it gets bad enough, minor break and work on some art work.

Some days it feels like Zo$ has little care, as well other days, seen the ¢u$tapo come charging in to burn everything down cause they are always rei¢h and Zo$ is the enemy of the people.

"ZOS only cares about money" is a mantra I see a lot on the forum, but it doesn't match how the team behaves here, on Twitter, Twitch or in game.

Even without checking outside resources, everywhere I go in game I see little details that show the love and care the team responsible for ESO has for it. Silly things like the ants climbing trees in Northern Elsweyr, or the touching memorials for those who have passed on.

Things like these are evidence that contrary to the forum cry of "the only interest they have is about money", there is a team that cares very much about the game they are making. And that is the reason I play - because I know there is a team that does care and is trying to make ESO the best they can.

I think I fall into the casual category, although I've tried everything in the game aside from duels and BGs. Maybe, because I'm a casual, I'm more lenient with the bugs and problems that arise.

ANd all the threads about the coutless issues after the last patch are what for you? Just lies? I mean really? I undestand that you might be a casual roleplayer who roams around doing quests, and therefor U dont experience thoses issues. But to say that the game has no issue at all and people here are lying... thats really low m8, really low

    [snip]

They didn't say that there was zero issues in the game. They stated that they have not had any problems or issues. They are making a personal claim, not a broad blanket statement claiming that there are no issues or that those who are experiencing them are lying. So, calm down, they are not trying to keep you down and in the dumps.

I'm only staying because i have some good friends here, altough most of them left or are taking a break due to game horrible state, looking to see if ESO improves to log.

Nowadays most of the times its just solo for me, so if things don't change, and i dont think they will, probably will log less time each day.
