I think it would depend on who you ask I have a friend where the game is working so much better then before that includes Fps. Well I do think as more people finish with the bulks of the downloading they are doing right now it could still get better. However there are some issues, that do need to be addressed.
One involves a lot of in game crashing. think it has to do with the way the client has this code that make it so the eso icon on the task bar blinks like a warning signal when tabbed out. I don't really see the need for that really. So I think that is more of a technical glitch. That new thing they added to the icon on the task bar for Eso I just don't see the reasoning behind that one. Given the crashes effect players when they are quitting or being kicked out. I think that could be the main source of the issue. That is my speculation.

They could use some adjusts and bug fixes possibly to the new blocking system so it plays out smoother. Fixing regen and other issues caused by the patch bug fixes. So there is kinks that need to be addressed and they didn't have the last pts patch they typically have so hopefully they get those patched in this week. That way they can go to consoles with those fixes.

    Generally:

+ game loads (a lot) faster
    - crashes (but never when travelling or in combat)

On the whole it's a bit better for me as before the patch it could take VERY long to load some places (and especially the NPC's in it). An occasional crash on a non critical moment is not that horrible.

I can’t do a proper parse at the moment, I keep running into a point in my rotation where I swap to back bar, drop two skills, LA, switch back to front bar, press first skill in front bar rotation, and just freeze up, timers on my UI start, but all the skills on my bar are blacked out, and I can’t do anything until the server catches up, I’m just frozen as my DPS drops.

Anyone else getting this. Maybe I’m swapping back too fast!!? Maybe I am causing a Desync with the server?

I did a few battlegrounds and some dueling the other night, PvP feels quite good. Haven’t been to Cyro yet though due to the issues and low pops!

No problems for me. No drops. No crashes. All is fine. Nothing seems better, but more importantly, nothing seems worse. Even cranked it back up to 4k settings, which I couldn't do previously, and runs fine.

Feel for those whose experience is less than stellar. Felt ZoS was a little too confident in plugging the benefits of this update in case it didn't mirror reality. Welp.

On the whole a lot better.
Loading times are shorter, loading of npcs and assets are shorter too.
FPS either the same or even improved.

Only negative side I've seen is the odd crash, but then so far they've only happened to me when I'm closing the game so no big deal for me.

Cyro is unplayable, at least b4 the crashes or lag was spread out. Now it's just every 5min to 10 mins.

Pve it's way better, I had no lag or weird stutters.
The only gripe is a moment when skills seem to drop off.

To me it feels better, but ZOS has to hammer out the flaws of it first. It is terrible for people who enjoy pvp as it is - but ZOS is on it and will fix it. I'm worried about the impact of the new blocking on high ping players, but if it has to be done than it has to be done. i was never a friend of animation cancelling anyway. it takes getting use to the new way though, but it feels ok.

What is really good is that it is more fluent in crowed areas and that I don't have to wait for certain NPCs to appear anymore, this is far more responsive, even I have stutters sometimes when people around me invoke a lot of particle effects. Could be my old graphics card so, it doesn't like mass amounts of particle effects that much. But i have quite some an amount of those cards laying around because i use them as cheap CUDA devices with low energy requirements on proprietary boards - so i guess i will use it for a longer time. But I guess this stutter is related to the new parallel execution of effects and ZOS will work on this as well and I will be fine with my old card for quite some time.

Have noticed better queue times for battlegrounds and more close matches, still get some teams wiping the floor with others but a lot less often than before.

Load screens seem better in terms of they all feel about the same length of time now as opposed to the stupidly long load times you would get from time to time before the update.

Can't comment on Cyrodiil haven't visited since before the update.

Block feels a bit better only in that I am no longer getting hit/knocked back because I know for certain now that I am blocking not like the old system where every now and then you would have block up but that was only as far as my client not the server.

Feels a bit slower to block and block cancelling ability's seems to vary quite a bit now.

Other than those things can't really say I have noticed any major improvements, then again was not expecting much to begin with just glad it downloaded without issue at least for me.

Just hope they fix stuff performance wise moving forward through the year, that said some of the issues have been complained about for years now, if they knew how to fix them, I would assume they would have been dealt with by now, not sure what has changed exactly to make this year any different, do they suddenly know how to fix the problems?

it will be a bit of trial and error, i guess. A game like this is complex and performance bottlenecks not necessarily easy to find and even when found not necessarily easy to fix, without to cause issues at another place. But I'm happy that ZOS is trying to do it now, but expect some things to work and others not so much - it will be an up and down before it'll be finally successful.

    PC Eu here. Abysmal 2019.

    Now:
I have something with my stamina sustain. It’s not an UI, I get zero return on HA and my regeneration are a goner.
I’m experiencing crashes that aren’t provoked by cat on keyboard or a pc that’s caving into the pressure.
The shadow figures in combat are still an issue, the larger faction seems not to have that since they can kill me long before they appear for me.
All the things I can’t do while I’m combat or dead............

And when 2020 just keeps following the 2019/2018/2017/2016/2015 paths it do not matter if my loading screen time has been decreased.

I have no ideas how to answer the question on performance. I have none addons, never had, my pc gets regular loving, my internet is switched on with more than enough power.

Maybe it’s time for a rollback to before T1. Or was the first year really as bad as this?

That was because ZOS ignored the basic rule of any client-server architecture - never trust the client. They executed a lot of the calculation on the client machines and opened it up to cheating and botting. And because it was abused, they had to fix this and do what any professional in this area does - they started wtih an amateur view on client-server and learned from experience, that they have to stick to the rule if they want it to work as intended.

    No impovement in performance.
    -Cyro still unplayable.
    -High ping still there.
    -Same, long, loading screens.
-NPCs still take time to load as before. (less to be just)
-Still getting black figures instead of players (sth that ZOS promised would be fixed)
    -Crashes
    -Stamina recovery bug.

Absolutely zero improvement in any area. Its actually worse and my vote "same" is wrong.

also, with that new block stuff combat feels too clunky. It's like you playing with very high ping, despite ping is absolutely ok. Also crashes (not to be confused with disconnects). And since i didn't strugle with loading (ssd), for me this update is nothing but a disaster.

better for me. load times are down to 10 seconds from log in to char select then 15 to game. No crashes, no major issues, also enjoying the new block just need to get use to the new combat changes.

Infinite loading screens were the most common issue I would get before the patch, and so far since the patch I have yet to have one.

I have had one crash, the type in which the message box appers, and allows you to type what you where doing when it occurred. These types of crashes have always been rare for me. I much more often would get the type which the game would suddenly stop with no warning. That type has not occurred post patch.

Agree on the pc/eu part. Tried to do blackrose yesterday and it's still a shitshow. Latency is significantly worse than pre patch. While I don't get any significantly fps drop spikes (where you go from 50 fps down to 5 in a second), I didn't see my fps go above 25 during the entire blackrose run.

Such a joke promoting this patch as a performance patch and not even solving anything...

Have less lag, and aside from game crashing when alt-tabbing and initially, it runs pretty well. There are some bugs in the graphics department like I can't select the resolution of my screen at all (actually crashed constantly before I worked around this bug to manually set resolution), but other than that it is better for me. Lag is even minuscule during a zerg...but maybe because most are booted :D

Unfortunately worse. It ran very nicely prior to the update.
I have lost so many Tel Var due to crashes amidst trash mobs already. Since Sorcerer pets are useless offensively now (hence no longer on my bar), I have nothing to defend me when I crash. Usually my pet would end a fight and rescue me.

I also feel as though the general performance has decreased. I have lags where I had none before.

I'm one of the third where I have seen a drop in performance. My frame rate has gone from 80fps, to an overage 55fps, and then only if I have a good head wind behind me. Getting a number of random crashes also.

We tried to to trials tonight and it was a right royal pain. People were having random crashes all the time, but we got thought it..just. Poor off-Tank crashed just before the end of the fight, and missed out on his Boos drop, and the completion of the quest.

I've tried with no add-on's, some add-ons, all add-ons, and fps & game crashes haven'changed.......

Oh btw the reason I came writing this...I just crashed out the game...again......fifth time tonight...
