I did the update today, and it freed 14 GB on my disc. Which left the game folder at 83 Gb.
My friend - also PC and also pre-steam version - updated and it freed 40 Gb for her, leaving her game folder at 67 Gb.
Why such difference when we're both on PC and with the same version of the game? It puzzles me greatly.

✭✭✭There is a dozen threads about this already. ;P
Steam doesn't do the same good job of deleting unnecessary files. Your version still has 20GB of voiceover files in the two languages you don't run the game in. You can safely delete them and go down to 67/66.
To be fair though, I'm not sure what you mean by 'pre-steam', so I may be misunderstanding. Either way though, check for the voice files.Edited by Raisin on February 25, 2020 5:55PM0 -

I didn't quite catch if you were using steam or not. If you are, I am not sure about the exact location, but I would hope that if you can find ESO wherever Steam saves your games, the directories will be similar. Here is my path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online
For me, the only voice folders in there are vo_en and vo_soundsets. You should also have vo_de and vo_fr (at least I hope they are abbreviated that way). So between english, french and german, you just delete the two folders you don't use.1 -
