Would you like if mounts could follow us like pets on dismount?

Note, not having pets and mounts following at the same time, but getting to choose between one or the other, and having mounts retain their general size upon following you around rather than sizing down.

Likewise, if we could have this without mount followers blocking interactibles the way warden bears and sorcerer pets do, or possibly only allowing mounts to "follow" while outdoors and automatically dismissing them upon entering buildings and interior spaces (anywhere the game says "you cannot mount in this location" already)

Nope. Ugh. Just get them out of the way - as in what they do now which is poof into thin air. Some game I played had mounts that were persistent. It was.... MORE than annoying.

Sorc pets already stick their booties in everyone else's face. Imagine having a storm arc. bear added to that?

Hence why I was saying having them not block being able to interact with objects and/or dismissing as soon as you leave an outdoor space lol

Completely pointless then. Why suggest it if your only going to offer it for a hypothetical idea of mounts that follow and not suggest it for active assistants, non-combat pets, active/temp pets? Be a total waste of resources.

As such - the mounts would act like all followers: assistants, non-combat pets, active/temp pets - no matter how hard you suggest "they won't block things" and in reality still block things.

I just want the walk toggle to not be affected by the mount speed stat so I can actually WALK/TROT when I have speed maxed out. I get that it's probably the way it was implemented that makes it impossible, but it's still making me sad for RP purposes.

I wouldn't mind as much having the mount follow behind, but they're all pretty big and that might cause problems for other players.

Its no more pointless than having non-combat pets following us around like we already do, also again why I was suggesting having it either/or of having your mount following you or having your pet following you, not both at the same time, because then at least theoretically its taking up the same amount of resources as it already would.

That's why I was thinking the game would just use the same feature it already has for not mounting in certain locations that it would dismiss mount followers as well. I mean its not like anyone brings their horse inside a bank or a shop anyway, it would realistically wait outside lol

What is the point? I don't get why anyone would want their mounts to follow them around. Makes no sense. If you want a cadre of pets following you around all the time, be a warden, you don't need another thing following you.

Where do things like this come from? I don't get it.

Because some of the mounts are cooler than the non-combat pets and/or don't have pet equivalents and I'd rather have them following me?

Not to mention its just weird to me to have mounts literally poof in and out of existence, and to add onto that it would be nice to have for the roleplay crowd and immersion.

Anyway I think it could work if you had an option to toggle this option on/off individually so those who don't want to have their mounts as followers can just turn it off and those who do want it can turn it on by preference.

And while we are at it, let's ditch the pets and assistants in dungeons and dolmens. Few things in this game irritate as much as trying to select a body to loot and keep having bankers getting in the way. If it warms your heart to have your pet around the house, in town, or on the trail... enjoy. But lets get rid of the computer resource drain they create in combat. Just another thing to slow down the processor.

You saw the pic I posted right? Storm bears are actually larger than the normal bears, on top, they have floating pieces, and lovely visual effect of lightning that splashes out. Now, imagine that bear's hind quarter in your face, along with my two other pets out, and Merchant assistant out as well.

You are fighting a world boss, and suddenly I park next to you and join in the fight. This WB isn't indoors, nor is it near a crafting station, so the mount now lingers near me like all the other pets - remember I am next to you cause that was the direction I was coming from. Now said WB starts using his abilities. Wouldn't be much fun having people global'ed cause my bear's fat electric booty-lo decided it's pathing will block the big nasty indicator, and probably some other melee's screen - unlike my assistant, who is the size of a player, or like most non-combat pets, which can be large but nothing really detrimental - but still can cause visual blocking on key abilities, and attempts to loot / gather items.

That is one, person. Now imagine 40 others with their larger and more vibrant mounts following them into battle, not despawning cause it is outside and not near a crafting station. Nothing was said or indicated that they "despawn" during any combat as well.

It is a unique idea, but mount booties will be everywhere, booty blocking so many things in the world.

When you dismount the mount should run off forever & you have to go get a new mount.
Like Skyrim.. or was it Oblivion.. ?
However you should also be able to steal mounts from NPCs & other players

    No way!

Between some of the crazed jumbo-sized mounts and then gaudy flashing neon effects this would be a line-of-sight and visual experience nightmare.

Imagine a raid where everyone is stacked and all of their green Wild Hunt Atronach Crate Ancient Shadow Ghost Zombie Nix Hounds are piled up and occluding your view. I shudder just thinking about it.

Unless there is option to disable rendering on my side of the game. And while we are at it, include the non-combat pet in the same option as well. I don't understand why I have to waste my GPU cycle to render someone else's completely useless pest, I mean pet.

Just play a male Bosmer and use one of the pony pets ;)

Honestly: Actually it would be more realistic and could be nice for RPing, I had thought of that myself already. But fastly dismissed that idea, since, as some already mentioned, they would block everything in cities, it wouldn't even look good in crowded places, and, yes, consider server load.

If this was a single player game then yes I'd like my mounts to be persistent. But I wouldn't want to try and navigate through a city where everyone's mounts are following them around. It's bad enough already with the obnoxious flapping twilight and huge bears, it would be even worse with horses and guar and more bears and whatever else clogging up the space.

Mounts don't follow you around in real life, when you step off a horse it doesn't usually want to follow you through a city around a lot of other people.

I don't even have a pet out, they become tiresome, most are too big. And if you pay attention most people don't have pets out most of the time. Personally, I really don't care for pets following me around let alone to have my mount, plugh, that just sounds like a lot more information my computer needs to process, sounds like more lag, more things to block seeing things like chests or NPCs,e tc.

Nope, no, bad idea, no good, no way!
