Should they flip the Stealth Reduction/Steath Detection passives and Give Bosmer back their stealth?

Hunters eye should have been a khajiit passive the Stealthy one the Bosmer's so do you want to see them switch those around? Do you want to see Bosmer Stealth Reduction Bonus to be their thing and Stealth Detection the thing of the Khajiit?

I probably should have picked 'other' as I don't think any race should be given Stealth Detection personally; its not desirable or useful.

ZOS: Its not the end of the world if 2 races are good at sneaking. If you must, make the Bosmer version a bit less effective but add a sprinkle of something other than stealth detection.

Unfortunately with their mind set they don't want races to do the same thing. Flipping them around would be better if they are unwilling to do that. People are passionate that their Bosmers be the Thief race. So I think the Khajjit could be the acrobatics race. Since they are after all based on cats. Plus cats have noses that can smell very well and can detect things with along with whiskers that also help them in detecting prey so this is why they should have the stealth detection. Their bodies are built with it. As the Bosmers are not.

Stealth Detection should not be a racial trait at all, should be replaced with something useful even if its not the stealth reduction people are hoping for.

I'd be up for something more useful tbh, was glad to rid of that passive myself but reversed one isn't appealing much anyway. If roll/recovery are staying unchanged can't care less what will be the flavor one.

I will never understand this logic.
"Bosmer stealth detection is useless... so give it to Khajiit and give Bosmer back their increased stealth radius!" As long as it doesn't effect someone's preferred race it doesn't matter if you pawn an undesirable racial onto another?

They should both have increased stealth radius. The increased stealth detection radius is lame no matter what race you try to slap it on.

I don't really get why they got poison resistance, isn't that more of argonian thing? Also roll bonus is stupid and clunky.

Bosmer had some form of poison resistance, but as well stealth. and Rite should return back to them as well.
Never understood acrobat for bosmer, seems more Khajiit.

Bosmer, given where they mainly live and lore... should have a passive wall/tree climb to gain higher ground; like, be able to climb small / medium trees, walls, cliffs up to 22 meters. Be just 4-6 meters shy of fully climbing keep walls in cyrodill

Roll Bonus should be baked into Bow skill line.

Cannibalism should be a more cosmetic flavor (pun). Similar to mimic stones. Just Bosmer Style - but with cooking and eating.

Argonian should have poison and disease resistance combo return. As well some sort of ambush (stealth) attack bonus given their history.

What's interesting is that most posters actually agree that Bosmer need to be stealthy, but just disagree on how it should be accomplished.

The "no two races can share racial passives" thing is a complete joke, though. Altmer and Breton both have +2k majicka. Orcs, Imperials, Redguards, and Bosmer all have +2k stamina. Orcs and Dunmer have +258 weapon damage. Altmer and Dunmer have +258 spell damage. So shut up about how no two races can have the same thing.

The issue is that not only is it lore breaking for Bosmer to not be stealthy, but also that the practical effect is that the detection bonus is completely useless in PVE. No race should be handicapped with this entirely unneeded ability. The detection bonus should be removed from all racial passives and whoever thought of it should feel bad.
Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.

Give them both the same stealth bonus that they had before. The "every race needs to be 100% unique" argument is just stupid in this case. Race identity is far more important, which means that if we have 2 stealthy races, both should be so.

No, absolutely not. Although I hate the detection passive with a passion, I would not wish that upon anyone. Khajiit are also stealthy. Sure, in previous games they were less stealthy than Bosmer, but they were still stealthy.

Just give Bosmer and Khajiit the same 3m stealth radius and be done with it.

There are plenty of races to be a warrior or mage or something in between with but only only race to be a thief and ZOS calls that "diversity".

Well I think they could fix up stealth detection though it might not be a very good pve buff. What they could do is buff its detection range to be at least ten to 15 feet in front and behind and side to side. Make it really useful but only for khajjit so if you see a ganker in pvp in stealth or invisable others in the group cannot if they are not khajiits. Thus giving the khajiit the edge to deal with such threats. So yeah I think they could rework it to be very useful in such situations.

Cats have this ability to know when your sneaking up on them. They turn and look at you. At least my cats do at times.
So a cat's senses are very good and they have a very good way of detecting prey as well. So the Stealth detection can be a cool mechanic if they do it in a way that not only makes it very useful in pvp. But also make it very hard to sneak up on the khajjiit. I think it would be great as a Khajiit to have something like this. Not only having cat like senses and reflexes but also the ability to know when something is sneaking up behind khajiit.

Yes, it might make sense for Khajiit to be good at detection, but you just can't justify taking anything away from them to replace it with.
Buffing the detection range won't fix that either.
In fact it will just make its bad coding and weird behavior more apparent. Detection goes through invisibility. Not just stealth, but invisibility from potions and cloak! That's because invisibility seems to be coded as "reduce detection to 0 and automatically dodge targetted attacks". So yeah, even though you can see an invisible enemy, you still can't hit them, which is more than weird.
Also, 3m aka 10 ft in ESO is less than you would expect it to be from real life. A melee attack has a range of 8 meters so even at 15ft (4.5m), you'd already be hugging this invisible enemy before you detect them! This is no exaggeration either. Your models touch at 3m separation because the distance is calculated from the center of both of your characters rather then from edge to edge.
Then there is the fact that your own detection passive is a detriment to you if you are trying to be sneaky yourself. For more information take a look at this. It has pretty pictures.

Basically recreating/reposting my old post, because I can't quote it thanks to the thread being locked.

Test1: No medium Armor on both, the one with the red orbs has 3/3 Hunter's Eye.
    vXiwKRS.jpg
    jBCszhH.jpg
Without wearing any armor, the "danger" indicator is nonexistant for the person being revealed. You go from completely hidden straight to full reveal. However there is some very wonky behavior as I am constantly going "hidden" again since no combat is happening, only to be immediately detected as soon as the indicator goes to "hidden" without any of us moving. This is when sneaking face toward face. The fennec fox pet was friendly enough to not go into stealth, so you can still tell where my sneaking Bosmer friend is. Note that he is not standing on top of the flag but slightly behind it (there is room for about another crouching Bosmer between him and the flag).

Test2: One has full medium armor with passives, the other with the red orbs has 3/3 Hunter's Eye
    bgRT7ay.jpg
    SjswjpX.jpg
This time the Bosmer without the Hunter's Eye passive put on 7 pieces of medium armor, none of which interact with detection nor stealth beyond the medium armor passive. As you can clearly see, the Bosmer without Hunter's Eye is made aware of a nearby enemy through the "danger" indicator - the half opened eye. The Bosmer with Hunter's eye is still hidden and has no idea an enemy even exists in the area. This time the helpful fox behaved and went properly into hiding. The duel flag is touching the Hunter's Eye Bosmer's heel this time.
Lastly we need to consider accessibility.
We can't just buff the range until it becomes useful, because of how accessible and widespread this would immediately become. Think about it. If there is an item set that gives you truesight with which you can see all enemies in stealth around you, then you'd need to make the choice to wear that set over another that might help you kill or defend against these enemies. But your race choice is outside of that decision. You pick it once at the start and then, for the most part, need to stick with it.
A third of the dominion will be immune to stealth if we'd buff it until it's useful and Nightblades would quit PvP forever.

They can and should both be stealthy. No "bosmer gets a smaller bonus", or khajiit get the detection because that thing is utter garbage. Just smack the 3m radius stealth bonus on both and be done with it. Fits lore, fits the two races, fits dialogue we see in game, people will be happy, it's actually a useful bonus, and will make Stealth Detection just a distant nightmare with time.

Orcs and dunmer both have weapon damage. Several races has stamina or stamina regen bonus. Same as several has magicka etc. The supposed "unique" racial bonuses is just humbug.

I preferred the reduced stealth detection but find all medium i'm pretty stealthy in PVP still and the Theieving in PVE well the Theif Gear Combo of NME,Barlac Drae, Night Terror lets me do all I did. Lore wise? yes it kills me we are the stealthy thieves we were. I also definately preferred the extra damage from stealth as a ranged archer in "gankstas paradise." But I know nobody is really seeking a return of that perk.

The Stealth detection has actually helped on a few occasions in PVP having uncloaked enemy nightblades hiding out in keep towers etc. The roll dodge while wonky I've gotten used to and can boost a little damage via Pen.

The Cannibalism Passive: LOL I love that idea!
Perhaps Bosmers could have a Consume Enemy passive that forced dead PVP players laying around the battlefield to res at a keep and can't be soul gemmed up.

They didn't. Both Bosmer and Khajiit had a passive that was unhealthy for PvP and needed fixing. They just did their fixing very unevenly, but trying to make this a Bosmer vs Khajiit thing is just plain wrong.
They removed problematic the damage from stealth from both and then, so that the races would be "unique", they removed the Bosmer stealth and left Khajiit stealth untouched. ZOS is at fault here, not the Khajiit.

    @faeeichenlaub

The NME-Darloc Brae-Night Terror combination doesn't let you do all you did before. Before before Darloc Brae you could wear 4 pieces of another more useful set to get where you are now with Darloc. ZOS limited your build freedom and shoehorned you into a very restrictive one, if you just want to keep what you had.

And the detection in PvP is less useful than you think. 3m sounds like a lot, because it is IRL, but it's nothing in ESO. There are no chokepoints in IC or Cyrodiil that are wide enough for your standard detection to not be enough but your +3m detection with the passive to be enough and cover that ground.
On the other hand, detection potions give you 20m of detection. Those are useful because they also work reliably against cloak and are more fair too.

@Thevampirenight I think this poll is pretty pointless, confusing and overall detrimental to giving Bosmer back their stealth.

The title and question present a much different scenario than your description, as only your description actually states taking stealth from Khajiit and replacing it with detection. Several people have already said they voted "yes" but actually don't want to take Khajiit stealth away, which would be "no" or "other".

It's too late to change the description now because people already voted accordingly.

My personal gripe with it is that the suggestion as a whole to give Khajiit what we Bosmer don't want is petty and makes us seem petty by association and just drives a wedge between Khajiit and Bosmer who should be allies in this.

I obviously can't make demands here and you are free to do what you want, but if I were you I would request for this poll to be deleted by a moderator and then try again with a less biased poll with results that actually tell you something about the public opinion rather than these tainted ones.
