It's been said, but I'm going to say it again...

ESO is an expression of imagination, it's a dream world meant to entertain and engage us in many different ways. One of those ways is with mechanical spiders.

And keep in mind as well that no mechanical spider could truly be a spider, in real life or a game regardless of how realistically it might copy a real spider.

So in the world created for us to play in, the mechanical spider, the dwarven mechanical spider is in fact exactly that. Anyway, how do you know they don't spin webs in story lore? When you go into a dwarven delve you see all kinds of spider webs where the dwarven mechanical spiders are. Also, spiders are not going to be liquefying their food when they are busy fighting you, they would only do that when safe and nobody was around.

You don't eat your food when someone is trying to kill you, do you?
