Going off the Greymoor trailer possible vamp abilities

Just speculation.

We all know the vampire skill line is going to be altered, but to what? I’ve opened this thread for a little bit of discussion of what the existing skills may become and what may be added based on the trailer.

Starting with, invisibility:
The vampires weren’t seen at first which offers the idea that there might be some kind of cloak being added.

The way to make this different to nightblades would be to simply avoid the critical chance increase or the non-invisibility healing version. I’m sure there are many things that could be added in place for morphs.

Secondly, mist form:
Put simply they move a heck of a lot faster than the current mist form speedy morph.
Is that the greater movement speed? Or is that a vampire version of streak?
They’re a little too hard to pick out while moving, if it was a version of streak then the best way to separate it from the sorcerer ability would be to avoid any kind of stun+damage the way streak is.

Thirdly, the pull:
The soldier who is pulled into the shadows, that’s an obvious one, heck, that’s easy, it’s a pull with a knock down, no?

Fourth, the bats:
A version of the current ultimate I imagine, but the game engine doesn’t allow player flight (as far as I’ve heard) so it can’t go quite that far. Perhaps a replacement of the current speedy mist form use? Turn into a cloud of bats for several seconds and quench your thirst on victims you set you cloud upon. Bleh, blehbleh!
No idea for morphs.

Anyway, sorry if it’s too long for some, can’t really TLDR this one.

Going by trailers we should have already gotten sword and magic weapons, wouldn't trust trailers friend.

By the looks of it, the ability to hiss like a cat.

Seriously though, bat swarm mount morph ?
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Please refer to the thousand other threads that mention that stuff and generally finish with “I’m sure they’re working on it.”

FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

We know for a fact they teased a mesmerize skill which could either be a way to enthrall common NPCs, act as a stun to replace the stun from vampiric drain, or some other effects. Its still mostly speculation on how it'll work but it'll be cool if it'll let us feed off civilians without getting a bounty.

Even if they add invisibility / cloak in weaker form it will still automatically make NB an obsolete class. Period.

After being saddled with cast times on all of their ultimates, loss of most secondary effects on the majority of their skills and loss of two class defining skills to a world skilline and another class? Yeah, it's looking pretty bad.

My prediction for the base-line abilities:

    1. Reworked vampiric drain
    2. Reworked mist form into the mist dash you mentioned, however I could see it being a targeted streak
    3. Claw slash (they said this was an ability being thrown somewhere into the kit)
    4. Hypnotic gaze (they mentioned this will be getting added to the vamp kit as well, though I can kind of see it working similar to a chat option, therefore being a passive instead of an active similar to persuade and intimidate but idk)
    5. Bat swarm teleport. This is going to most likely be our new mobility ability or it will swap functions with the targeted mistform and it'll be an offensive ability and mist form will remain our mobility ability. One of the two. Either way, I don't think they'll allow us to fly, but I could see them letting us teleport in a swarm of bats similar to how vampire lords could in Skyrim. I genuinely don't care how they make this ability work, if we get the ability to turn into an actual swarm of bats instead of just having them fly around us that would be sick.

I do think you're 100% wrong on them getting an invisibility or pull, though. I think that's looking just a bit too much into the trailer. I also don't think Zos would even touch the idea of possibly giving ever class a nightblade cloak.

I would be satisfied with bat swarm and a mist dash that makes me harder to hit.

Considering the last trailer specifically highlighted what necromancer players can do in game, it's not a wrong way of thinking to assume they've perhaps changed the way they do things.

I also feel like the updates to mist form and a bat swarm teleport of some kind isn't too impossible. They just showed vampires dashing around in mist super quick, showed them flying in a swarm bats. Players are going to want to do that if a BIG thing of the next update is a "vampire" rework.

I would be satisfied with bat swarm and a mist dash that makes me harder to hit.

If every class could potentially get a targeted streak, just out of curiosity, why is the cloak thought too ‘out there’?

Because a targeted streak would more or less function similar to Nightblade's targeted teleport. I genuinely do not see them giving vampires invis for multiple reasons. Not only would it remove one of the super unique things to Nightblade, but vamps getting invis just wouldn't make much sense I feel. I believe they actually weren't invisible in the trailer, it's obvious they were just running around as mist in the trees/surrounding area before they decided to attack.

Now if they literally showed vampires coming out of stealth all predator-like and then charging in with their mistform, i'd agree with you 100%, but as it stands I feel like you're misinterpreting a rather small thing in the trailer as some big ability possibility idea. The fact of the matter is they just werent on screen at the time and were probably striding around in mist form/hiding somewhere.

Now I wouldn't mind if they get invisibility, I just don't think it's going to happen. And I also don't know where it'd fit in the kit considering the ability list I gave is more or less confirmed. They said they're keep some form of vampiric drain and mist form, vamps will be getting a feral slash ability, and they'll be getting a hypnotic gaze somewhere in their kit. That leaves the only possible thing to replace is the Bat Swarm teleport and considering that was actually a VERY big thing shown off in the trailer, I highly HIGHLY doubt they'll replace it for something that wasn't really shown in the trailer at all.

    If that makes sense?

I do remember them saying something about how they're going to be exploring *all* playstyles of a vampire in TES lore. So I'll be honest, idk what that means.

Im very excited to hear *something* about them hopefully next month, since Rich said on Twitter that they'll talk more about the vampire rework once Harrowstorm is on live.
