There are real world spiders that don't spin web. As species. Your argument is invalid. Downvote.

Which one’s? Are you meaning the difference between old and new world spiders? Afaik they all spin webs, just old world spiders dont use them strictly for prey catchin’. Tarantula = old world, Orb Weaver = new world
Edit: google proved me wrong, my bad

Yep, i wasn't sure about it either but at the back of my memory i remembered some spiders dont web. Quick google found which spiders don't do that. Spiders that don't web are scarier though :shudder:

We don't need spiders, I hate spiders. Already too much spiders on Earth. Do you guys know Earth has 100 times weight of all humans as spiders on Earth ?
So hidden somewhere 100 times your weight, there are spiders for you. If you are 200 lbs, then Earth has 20,000 lbs spiders just for you.

Someone please just delete that real spider picture on this page also, already saw it twice while scrolling and second one has given me irregular heart beats.
It's deeply imbued in brain and not just spiders but many patterns might be hard to watch, like many people find last year's iPhone camera design disturbing. I wanted to use fisherman outfit on some of my toons but that lump on back with fishing net, I didn't like.
Posting live spider images is NOT COOL as some might think. Human brain is very complex thing and it's hard to understand why it reacts the way it reacts. Spiders and some patterns associated with them make me very uncomfortable. More as a photograph or video than live, probably because it's zoomed or probably because I am helpless, in reality I can kill the spider. Horror games make you feel helpless for obvious reasons, watching something one has phobia of under such state of mind in VR photo-realism is dangerous.

If everything that made someone feel uncomfortable was banned, the internet would be a very dull place.
While I understand the problem of phobias, I'm afraid that you can't avoid everything which could cause a reaction by someone. There are phobias of really everything you could think of; are even people who are afraid of beards. A warning about violence, blood, gore or such is understandable for me (in general context, in a game in which combat play a big role, it's something different again) - but will you really warn people about spiders or beards?
Also, the thread title mentions Dwemer spiders (and why they weren't really spiders), so I already exspected some kind of picture comparison.
I have seen forum world longest here, almost 17 years now. We never allowed spiders zoomed in pix, someone got banned also.
There is NEVER any reason to post spider images, other than sadistic pleasure. Patterns are different thing, that's just for discussion, no one is asking to ban patterns.
Spider phobia is remanant of evolution and is very common. It's healthy phobia which helped our ancestors survive, it's not unnatural and is present to varying degrees in everyone.

Where are you from? The USA? I've been around different forums (mostly German, but also general European ones) since maybe 1998, and I have never experienced this. I've also been a mod in maybe 5 or 6 during my lifetime, and that was never a rule. There is NEVER any reason to post spider images, other than sadistic pleasure. I find it quite logic that you post pics of real spiders for comparison when discussing a thing with a spider-like design.Spider phobia is remanant of evolution and is very common. It's healthy phobia which helped our ancestors survive, it's not unnatural and is present to varying degrees in everyone.
I don't find it healthy if you could get a heart attack when accidentially seeing a picture somewhere online. Feeling uneasy is one thing, but such extreme reactions I find worrying.
As for "it presents in everyone": If I see a spider in my home, and it minds me in a way, I grab it by one of its legs and bring it outside.
Thanks for hiding the spider, sorry didn't mean to be rude, I just hate spiders and cilantro.

Not being rude. Just direct.
As such, remember it is only an animal. One that has been unfairly criminalized. Solely just by existing, just like so many other animals.
Also, to promote the removal of one animal's image due to an irrational fear, needs to have the equal support of the removal all animal images so that there is fair treatment of all animal based phobias.
