Im seeing few options for floors with most looking like I found it in a scrap yard. for example the alinor floor IS chipped. I see archway but that wont fit with a wall...so what no doors? no windows? more options coming maybe?

None knows... we keep asking for these for years, especially floors and building parts.
Doors and windows would be great, the technology is in the game (Moonhunter keep), but the devs are still silent regarding our repeated furniture requests. :(

    There is one door.

    And one gate.

Some shuttered windows, which appear to all be crown store only. Though ESO fashion sometimes gets that wrong. If you like them check other sites or in game.

I found the shutters under the Housing Editor Crown store tab for 170 Crowns each. My problem with them, like so many things, is the decrepit non-maintained look. They really need to make these items look halfway decent or give us the option of being able to select a look when we place them. I mean how hard is it to get a little paint and make them look like they aren't falling apart.

flip the alinor floor over and one side is nice while the other side is chipped and broken.
Many people either use negative space for windows and I've seen people use masterwork gates as doors - in addition you can use the new dragon door achievement item from elsweyr. Still others use EHT.

What do you mean by "negative space" for windows?

As in creating an "empty" space of air between two walls that are framed like aq suare.
I've also seen people use Masterwork Gates as windows by sinking them into the walls of the makeshift house.
Argonian Lattice, Rough can also be used to make windows as well as various other objects.
It does require a lot of being creative with existing furniture items but it's doable; Doors are an entire other beast.

If you are doing the Alinor Ballroom Floors for interior you can flip them upside down to make them smooth and clean, then you can put the Alinor Fence, Tall on the side to create long iron-wrought windows for example.

Ah. Thanks. I wasn't quite connecting negative with creating an opening in walls.

That seems to be an ESO staple.

Possibly ZO want us to fly into a cash-throwing-mad rage and demand better versions, for which they would charge even more.

But I think most players have just accepted that as the norm and either ignore those items or find a way to make them work.

I use the Alinor walls and then form a rectangle by facing the "fancy" parts inwards for the "window" (however big you want it). For larger windows, I use those scavenged supports that you can buy in Clockwork City. Depending on the size of the window, you can make a wall of them, then spread them apart based on what you think looks good (I use a length of .7 m between them, I think). Rotate the entire thing about 45 degrees then set it in your window. Do this again but rotate the other direction, then place that flush with your other scavenged "wall" and they'll form a nice cris-cross pattern.

I'm def not explaining myself well, so I'll take a screenshot tomorrow.

Here ya go. It's a little imperfect but the house is only part of the focus of what I'm doing, so I got way tired of perfecting stuff and called it good-

I even included a bonus with my spiffed-up Maarselok trophy. I'm trying to make creepy stuff and have been successful except in this case, where I created Bad Pun Husky in dragon form
