Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

so if CP is going to be replaced, i would love to see a PoE / Wolcen system instead.

could easily be re flavored into the constellation theme ESO has going one.

but love the general idea and theme with all the various build ideas, would be cool that once you hit 50 your thrust into this further RPG system to really define your character and abilities. could easily see the CP passives being turned into various nodes, and things like the weaker and unused set passives being turned into nodes, with various fluff in-between nodes of *+100 magicka* or *+100 armor* etc.

ESO player since beta.
game got too disappointing.

This just furthers the current issue of CP and why it's being redone; currently CP creates an inescapable gap in people wanting to PvP; the difference between a CP160/300 and a CP 810 is more staggering than anyone cares to admit.

Just PoE/Wolcen systems are complex and allow for great amounts of creativity but they also create a far and wide gap between new and old players and in a game like ESO where codependency is needed for newer people this would just further disinterest them from playing the game.

most of the strength of CP comes from the % nodes and not the passives, also where the lag comes from too, as it has to make checks vs CP% on every ability casts and is clogging packets

the nodes are meh, the huge flat % to damage done, damage taken, cost reduction, +regen, etc. are the problem

i think such a skill tree would be kinda cool and fun and would allow to make upgrades more exclusive vs each other since you have to move to one or the other direction - e.g. choices and consequences...i would really like that...

Id also like more horizontal progression choices as they are implemented often in wolcen .eg. you do +10% damage but your crit chance goes down XY% and things like that...

But i doubt we will see any complex system since zos seems already completely overwhelmed with the balancing already

I really like PoE and Wolcen styles trees but I don’t think ESO is an appropriate place to bring them in. The ARPG trees tend to give quite large bonuses or in wolcen’s case even skills. The trees work for those games because it is the fundamental of their progression system that starts from level 1, not an added bonus like ESO after level 50. Furthermore, as an ARPG both have a diablo-ish pace, meaning fast paced to the point of being brain dead really. It’s not uncommon to cast 5 skills in a single second with the kind of fast-to-the-point-of boring gameplay some ARPGs are taking. ESO feels more impactful because it isn’t fast to the point where you’re just spamming (also why there’s no real PVP in any of the aforementioned ARPG). I would compare ESO’s speed more to league or core punk.

Therefore, I don’t think a CP tree that provides huge advantages and special nodes is really the way to go because the difference between max CP and lower CP will be even larger, making it just a longer grind and bigger power creep. What if the nodes give very little stats you say? Then there’s no point creating a complex tree because it’s pretty meaningless, might as well be the same as current CP.

NA PC it's rarely has organized groups like in Kaal. The good PvP guilds are doing Kaal. It's takes most people 1-3 years to get to 810CP, so playing a char that has no spec for that long is boring. It's a broken system that Zen needs to fix, even if just shorting the curve to get 810. Or only having combat CP in the first 400CP and the last 410 be for things like crafting and fun things like water walking in all overland areas.

I did not hear ZOs was considering replacing the CP system but were reviewing it. Obviously, changes would occur and consider the race passives moved to flat values and some CP resistance were changed to flat values long ago it would seem that is a likely path.

Ofc, anything is on the table but I doubt it would be neutered to the degree OP seems to be suggesting though I am not sure if they actually explained what PoE or Wolcen systems really are their description makes them seem rather bland and boring.

You'll also what 2 to 3 toons on account too

That does not work for new players. On NA PC exp pots alone cost 43k. And that's for 30min. I do the daily dungeons and BG, I do crafting dailies and on ESO + you only get a few exp scrolls a month. So that's good for 4 to 6hrs of game play a month. I think you are stretching the truth by a large amount. But ty for the clarification.

That is true. I went to CP cyro after hitting 160 and got rekt a bunch sure, but also rekt other people. The current system is so front loaded that as long as you invest wisely low CP is fine for PVP. It takes some outside the box thinking but definitely doable from 160-300.

POE is amazing (been playing a lot of it lately tbh), but it’s entirely aimed toward min/ maxxing and ESO is not. That game also gives the player incredible potential to make a truly atrocious build, and has a precipitous learning curve.

I’d rather see more flavour in the “new” CP tree, or whatever they’re gonna call it. In addition to the standard bonuses and additives we already have, stuff like: unique cosmetics for abilities (make your sorc lightning red), perks that change an ability slightly (turn cold into disease), maybe mount speed increases after harvesting a node, etc. I’m not interested in the last type of CP perk myself, but I won’t discount a large portion of the player base—perhaps the largest—who simply have no interest in perfecting their interests or builds. They pay subs and keep this game as alive as the rest of us who play and run vet content/ PVP daily.

As a new player who know how to play PvP cuse I have been doing it since DAoC. The gap needs to be balanced to get more new players into Cyrodiil. It really is hurting the game.

Errmmmmm.... There is no CP campaign.....

It's dead, the PvP community is in Kaal and what fun is playing a char that is just level 50 and no flavor to how you want to play? None!

I ensure you that it is not dead... At least on EU/PC.

I can go from 0 cp to 810 in 45 days done it 3xs already on subs so it takeing 3 years lmfao if it takes that long you AINT PLAYING THE GAME

    How?

Easy do daily normal dungeon, daily bg, daily crafting and run content the rest of the day use xp pot or free xp scroll while doing all dailys and after having 5 to 6 quest turn ins ready to go around the same area , you also can run laps in high popped areas while having 1 of the 2 active be in 7 training gear purple or better full time and have eso+

Never said its cheap but then again other then mats i dont pay for pots as i use my main to support my subs and my mains an release day toon that knows everything in game and ill be starting on NA PC here shortly with no help and i dont see it taking me more then 60 days to cap out even then

Well I'm just getting to the point in my crafting I can make what I need for the most part. So I will see what I can do.

PoE is far more better than wolcen, in terms of passive system.
In wolcen, you can't be a necromancer and raise the dead. While, PoE as what every player wants.
