My Bosmer Nightblade has retired to the Linchal Manor where he tunes up his Precursor clones, crafts gear for other adventurers, and talks to the Augur about the ways of the universe. He generally only comes out of retirement when there is a large crisis. Most recently he came out of retirement to help with the Dragons in Elsweyr and there are rumors that he might be needed in Skyrim soon, but until then he just dusts off the various trophies and sits by the fire enjoying a glass of hot spiced rotmeth.

I feel like my character would probably eventually end up going mad from not being able to properly die, and even if they continue aging, they'd probably just keep reverting back to the age they were when they originally became the Vestige. Maybe they would retire and grow old and even live long enough without ever dying again, only to die of old age and return to their Vestige-turned age....and that would probably be what cracks them, driving them to a quest to isolate themselves from the world and find a way to permanently die, or try to make peace with living forever.

Honestly would probably end up freezing themself solid encased in ice somewhere in Atmora, only to be awakened over a thousand years later.

My main character, Varda Sirith, has traveled across many of the planes and alternate realities of the multiverse(s). She is a Silvenesti elf from the planet Krynn, and has a pretty involved back story of grace, the fall from, murderous revenge, and redemption.

She has commanded an army of the beast races against her Silvenesti brothers and sister (all but wiping them out), walked the lands of Britannia as highway woman and murderess, fought for control of Camelot, been embraced by the mists of Ravenloft serving as concubine to the lich lord Azalin, been redeemed by the Goddess Mishakal to walk the lands of an unknown world as a priestess of healing, and now serves as a Warlord in Ayrenn's army for reason as yet unknown (Although some suspect it is to set up the high elves - whom she loathes- for a cataclysmic fall.

The most probably ending for her would probably be at the hands of Mishakal. The gods and goddesses of Krynn do not take lightly having their gifts tossed aside. Most likely Mishakal will return her to the demi-plane of dread and the lands of Ravenloft -and Azalin - will claim her once again. Or worse, she will become a lady of the land, trapped for ever in her own little pocket of dread and despair. Of course, there is always still a chance she will redeem herself in the eyes of the goddess...but sometimes the apple just goes rotten at the core.

Seeing that the Vestige is basically immortal now, I'm sure they are around in 4E in some way. My headcanon is that they're really a Daedra of sorts, like the Daedra they die and then reform from the essence of their plane, which is Mundus in this instance. Maybe in time they'll embrace their Daedric nature and make some pocket of Oblivion their own, hm?

And before anyone protests, we had mortals become Daedra or gods before (or after?). Champion of Cyrodiil became the new Sheogorath and Tiber Septim became Talos. I'm sure there are more examples I can't recall from the top of my head.
Actually post-main quest they are only Immortal if they have Vampirism and even then it just physical immortality as opposed to true-immortality, being able to resurrect is simply a game mechanic just like you can resurrect before even doing the main quest.

The reason being is when you got your soul returned to you, it took the place of the Daedric Animus, lore-wise it was the Daedric Animus which allowed you to reform, there is even dialogue in quests which chronoloically take place after the main quest where you are refereed to as mortal and even dialogue where you claim you could of died, a true immortal would not say that.

Are you sure? I tought we were killed by manimarco, lost our soul and got a soul shriven body instead of a mortal one

As a vampire lizard he livrs long enough to see the fall of the the AD, the rise of the AD, the fall of the empire, the rise of the empire, the fall of the emperor... yet he gonna leave through the entire timeline from his hatchling times till the dragonborn. watching him. telling him his stories. and lending him money ;D

Sidra just prowls around Summerset and Vvardenfell, thieving and murdering with reckless abandon. My second character, a Bosmer magblade, does the same, though she's sloppier because of Cloak. I could see Ilsabet meeting her end doing something spectacularly desperate to save the man she loves, but only if there's no more world-saving to be done. But that would largely depend on how the rest of the game story goes and what her options are once she runs out of canon stuff-that-happens.

More likely, at the point when ZOS the universe stops giving her adventures to pursue, she'll sort of drift off somewhere, either continuing her wandering around Tamriel or, if she's sufficiently world-weary, maybe retiring to her simple life back home.

My character, no matter how tired and in need of a mental vacation she is, is the type who can't turn away from people in need of saving or world-ending threats. So as the people she knows start dying off of old age, she'll probably stay behind the scenes doing the same heroic deeds she's always done, only not in the limelight. Any free time she has will be spent trying to figure out how to break into the Colored Rooms to rescue a certain errant knight.

And if she's not doing any of that, she's probably brooding over how immortality sucks in one of her many run-down hideouts sprinkled throughout Tamriel.

Before and after, you are always referred to as mortal. Even from Daedric Princes.

I expected the soulless Vestige to feel like part of him/her was somewhere else. Probably some diluted emotions and sensations.

You died before the game even begun.

It’s always been a talking point which has come down to whatever you prefer since the devs won’t comment on it.

IMO, I like my immortal Vestige.

And to @Michae, you technically aren’t a Daedra. I remember in a quest in the A’likr that if you were a Redguard a spirit remarked to you that you had the blood and ancestry of Redguards in you.

You only die before the game begins if you do not have any of the expansion packs and the Daedra are not the ones calling you mortal here.

True, but Ilsabet's story follows the game canon pretty closely, so much of what will happen is out of my/her hands. I'm not sure she's the type to break reality to get what she wants, although it would be interesting to see her get to that point. :D

    Luka Creyden, my Necromancer:

Due to her body being technically Daedric (Azure Plasm) and also eventually becoming a Lich, Luka is sort of stuck with immortality. Its not a problem to her though; she can continue her research and studies from her home in Coldharbor, whilst watching over the Mundus.
Over time, Luka notices that whenever things on Nirn start to get a bit iffy, some random hero or another turns up to sort the problem out. Safe in the knowledge that Tamriel is seemingly fated to be in good hands, Luka withdraws further into her arcane studies.

As time passes, Luka begins to take on Appprentices, who study and live with her in that pocket realm within Coldharbor. It starts as just one Apprentice, then two, then three... A few years pass and that small pocket realm has become a town all of its own.

Several more years pass, the very few who knew Luka and her followers barely speak of her any more as her deeds fade from memory. However, young mages whisper rumors to one-another, of a mysterious city filled with ageless mages, drifting freely through the unknown infinity of Oblivion.

    So yeah, something like that!

My first ESO character (I don't really consider any of them "main"), was the third incarnation of the first NPC i created for a TES mod. The original Oblivion mod created a version of this -

    RumpleBabe.jpg

    - integrated into TES lore as well as I could manage. So she was a member of the Imperial Legion Mountain Riders, patrolling in the Jerrals. The corresponding mod for Skyrim was started, but I decided not to release one without voice acting, so it never got completed. Morrowind and earlier games didn't let you ride, or I'd have done ones for them, too. Since ESO is set before any of those games, there's a chance she was the one that had the initial idea, and if this stupid war would ever end, she'd bring it to the new Emperor for consideration.

    Then she could retire and
    1) become an alcoholic, addicted to peppermint schnapps - or
    2) become the mother of a litter of cuddly cubs.
