When you buy alliance war skill lines, does your character automatically rank up?

I'm a bit confused how buying these skill lines work. So here im just asking about buying the alliance war skill lines specifically.

Does buying the skill line open up all the pvp furnishings or not?
My main pvper is DC and im earning my ranks and opening my furnishings as i play. I only pvp DC

But for pve purposes my other characters are AD and EP and they have their own homes and id like to open up some of the furnishings.
So since I dont pvp on EP or AD how do i go about this? Does buying the alliance war skill line rank us up or not? Cause i you need the appropriate rank to be able to get the pvp furnishings.

Thank you all in advance

Alliance Rank is not the same as alliance skill level.

Alliance Rank: dictated by Alliance Points earned in PVP
Alliance Skill Lines progress to unlock new skills: dictated by Alliance Points earned. Doesn't match up with AR anymore
Specific Skill leveling: is on your bar when you earn XP

Achievement furnishings are account bound. You can buy them on any character who has the necessary achievements and place them in any home.

But is there any sort of alliance lock? I mean, can a DC character buy AD or EP furnishings to give to AD or EP characters on the same account? I would assume not, because how would the DC character even be able to visit the AP or EP vendors? I'm assuming they're the vendors located in the alliance bases in Cyrodiil and the Imperial Sewers. I don't know; maybe they all carry the same items regardless of alliance? But what about the styles of those items?
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

You do need to level a character of the appropriate alliance to unlock furnishings from that alliance (like Pact Ballista or Dominion Forward Camp). Non-alliance furnishings are not alliance-specific, like the emperor’s throne and Volendrung.

The exceptions (to the best of my recollection) are the alliance shields, which are earned through PvE on a character of any alliance. (They’re sold for gold in PvE-land also.) There is also some overlap with the defaced flags, as an AD toon has access to EP and DC flags, while EP has access to AD and DC, and of course DC has access to AD and EP. So you only need to level up two different alliances to cover all three. But that’s a very specific exception.
