What about us that have 1200+cp?

There has not been a cp increase in quite a few patches now. I understand that CP is in a weird spot atm, but the game is still leveling people up for ultimately no use whatsoever. I have almost 1300cp and at this point is totally useless for my character along with enlightenment and any other stat that increase experience gain. It means nothing and is frustrating. There is no longer a feeling of character improvement. It’s stagnant. I can see this justified if armor and weapon levels were increased or we gained back our feeling of progression in the game. Please address the the elephant in the room

But but but don't you get a warm fuzzy everytime you gain a champ point?

Be careful what you ask for, a major combat overhaul is coming, which includes the underlying stats. Whoo boy, are the boards going to erupt when that is announced....

No, i don't know what it is. Or when it is. Or even if it is going to happen. I am just going to pop some corn and get comfortable in the recliner.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

For sure because despite hoping it won't, we all know that it will somehow be a net loss and pretty much negate peoples hard work to gain all those CP. I think that's why they've mentioned over hauling cp more than once but haven't done it. There's no easy way to take peoples progress and throw it in the trash and somehow still sell it as a good thing.

I am 1300+ CP my self and I really could not care less. Stopping the CP power creep was a very good thing for over all game balance and I really don't care if it makes my CP gain pointless or not. I was already about 200 CP over the cap when they stopped increasing it so even if they wouldn't have done that I would likely always have been significantly over the cap and there would be no reason for me to care. Maybe some cosmetic rewards for reaching certain CP would be cool, like special weapon skins or housing items to show of. But I don't want to see any form of CP increase, rework or gear level increase.

Well this goes along with my suspicion that with all of the class and balance changes that are happening like @Nestor spoke on. I believe that item set levels will increase to 170 cp or something like that. I have felt that this is going to happen. No one really knows for sure but I would like to allot my CP with 1200 points to see what would happen.

Tbh i feel like they could just make all gear stop at lvl 50 and scale just as they are now(stats not affected). This stops newer cp players from wasting a bunch on money getting gear before cp160. These players can also go straight to farming dungeon sets that they might want. Seems silly to have a wishy washy time period where you can do late game content, but essentially not farm any late game gear. Any player that is cp 500+ really doesn't care what number is associated with gear. If there were new cp caps for gear, it would just be tedious to farm gear again that may have taken months or years to get.

Gear for between 1-50 could also just be reduced to scale with your level based on the material instead of individual levels. Newer players are almost never going to figure out how to get a full setup by the time they already out leveled it.

As for cp, the system itself needs to be changed to reduce lag and power creep. At this point, with cp you can run through most vet dungeons in random gear. Dps checks are really the only thing that stops you if you are really trying to wing it for your dailies, but in most cases just running 4 dps does fine.

I don't care at all about CP now. At 810 you can basically have everything you want in the CP trees, you don't have to specialize. CP is part of the power creep problem.

A CP re-work is coming; let's see what they do first.

They could just grant you a transmute geode, writ vouchers or undaunted keys for each extra level up.

As for progressing your character, thats where dungeons and trials achievements/skins/titles come in.

A recent ZOS post suggested they are looking at the entire combat system for the game. We knew that they were going to do something, it just now appears to be a bit more then a CP Revamp.

I hope so. The game could use it, but... honestly I wonder if it is better to do that for an ESO2.

Whatever they do, I really want to see weapon types be more unhooked from stamina/magicka. It is probably one of the most annoying things to deal with when designing new characters. I've had some success in doing magicka characters who don't use staves, but it is... hard.

    So what?
I don't have a need to "feel progression" in my character level at this point. If I need to feel powerful, I can just go blink at something in the overland areas and kill it.

I see that CP has been a problem for some time. I guess what I would like is if we aren’t going to utilize CP past a certain point, then after 810 different rewards or XP gains Need to happen. I’m tired of earning XP to gain absolutely nothing. I mean this is ridiculous to force your entire player base to gain experience for absolutely no reason at all. What kind of dev plan is this? Maybe we can CC some Zos members and try to get some info on this.

The problem is that as we play the game and gain XP it accumulates and amounts to nothing after a certain point.

The amount of CP available and the diminishing returns they provide are already are stagnant. Stagnant ages ago. I don't believe CP was really ever meant to be a real fix for character progression, they just didn't have clear direction after the removal of veteran levels, imho.

I believe people with CP well above cap do deserve something for sure. You put in the time and effort and deserve it. Im at 940 i think which isnt even close to a lot of you. Honestly, i cant even think of anything. Some might like gold but thats lame. Maybe crowns? But they would NEVER do that.

They just need to create a better system of progression that people with a lot of CP would benefit from. Hopefully not make things unbalanced, but give yall some recognition for your time at least. Something less grindy too.

What on earth would you use it for? Power creep has meant the game is easy enough.

What do you need the CP for?

Yea, please rework the CP system.

I’m around 1100 or so and think the whole system is dumb, all it does is hurt new players.

Longtime players don’t feel like they’re progressing, but at the same time know we have a huge advantage against new players and don’t want the cap increased.

Maybe change CPs so it’s more fluff based. Costume unlocks, styles, whatever, just not actual combat strength.

I'm CP 1000+ and I also don't care. I have reached the max and everything else is just a digit that's going up. What I would like to have, however, is the ability to leave the enlightened bonus untouched when I'm playing with my max CP chars, so the bonus would stack up and I could use it for levelling new characters.

The only thing that was accomplished during the time that the cap went up 30cp per update was that we got gradually nerfed for whatever gains we thought we were getting. The progression was a lie. We stayed at the same power level relative to the content whether that meant we got hit with nerfs or the content got hit with buffs. It was extremely frustrating to see a character progress only to see it regressed for the sake of balancing out the extra cp I didn't even want added.

If Zos does a major change to CP they will want to give us credit for the CP we have. My guess is they froze the CP cap until they do figure out a new system and implement it so that the new system takes into account what we have.

In reality we play the game to enjoy it, not to get that next CP point that is pretty meaningless. Lets be real, another 30 CP is not much more than a rounding error and a years worth is hardly noticeable. Basically a joke. So who cares that we have CP well past the cap.

also if they did do the 1k champion thing instead of 810, the new players would have even harder to catch up, which would result in more people giving up, especially if they want to compete for leaderboards

Something they could do is add a totem or fetish that requires a certain level of CP to unlock, it becomes character bound when unlocked. You spend CP on it to improve it and to remove it in order to replace it with a new/different one.

They could tie it to the new antiquities line with a new item slot.

800 CP are more than enough. You can softcap many important stars and grab very useful passives with ease. There is no need to increase the entrance barrier to endgame performance just to give old farts like me a small power boost that I probably won't even notice.

They had a similar system in Diablo 3, where you could gain paragon points but with NO ceiling. However after 800 points you could only assign points into core stats (i. E. Something like one AP = 5 magicka). For sure werent really balanced in that game, However i could picture such a bonus being balanced depending on conversion rate between stamina/magicka and CP

I thought Zos had just made clear the new combat system is what they are in the middle of implementing. Zos did that whole set the Russian interview article straight and made clear to us the article's statement that Zos was working on a new combat system was a translation issue.

Heck, if they are making all these combat changes then are going to revamp combat itself they are doing it backwards. That is the cart before the horse story.

Edit: Please tell me I am misunderstanding what you said.
