They serve a very important function. Building ultimate then leaving for a less boring fight. Just don’t do it if your next location requires mounting up. Easy peasy.

And therein lies the problem , some of these folk are exploiting the stuck in combat bug. Shame there's no way to really id them, because exploits are bannable.

Except how do you know that’s what they’re doing? Maybe they just wanted to make an unkillable character? It doesn’t have to be so nefarious.

How do I build such 60k health, full resist and high regen tank? Can someone guide me, if it really exists? AFAIK you need to give up some to gain on others. If someone's 60k hp, that means their res pools should be bare minimum.

In Cyrodiil, if you hit one who's tower farming with friends and if you leave to do something else while others stick around at the tower to fight, then you are in combat for 50 years.

While I agree this is a constructive post, I think the OP has some of the facts confused.

With 2 years of experience tanking in PVP, I have to disagree that mentioned “troll” builds in BGs (which are no CP) are impacting the game as adversely as claimed.

In fact, if you participate in a BG with pure tank stats, you are more than likely to run out of resources faster and die quicker. If one decide to spare any resources trying to be offensive/disruptive in a no CP setting, the “troll” builds actually fall apart.

Therefore this perceived problem applies only to Cyrodiil, and there are in fact many options to avoid or feel any impact to the gameplay. Bear in mind that survivability using “troll” builds come with massive requirements like holding block or self healing. They do not have the luxury to perma-engage or disrupt someone.

At best, what you are experiencing is run-of-the mill slow effects (like chilled for wardens, ash cloud slow for DKs, purify slow for Templars to list a few). This applies to all builds, not just “troll tank” builds.

I do admit I frustrate people being so hard to take down sometimes, but is removing something inconvenient (when there are multitude of options to avoid) - really healthy for the game long term?

I'm just mad at those that specifically target you to ruin your day

Sounds more like a general PvP problem than a tank problem. You basically just described literally all that PvP is about. This is in fact the very reason people make troll tank builds - to fend off people who target you to ruin your day.

Haven't played BG, but in MOBA the tactic is to ignore the tank until everyone else is dead.

They target and follow ME. I completely ignore them on every single occassion, assuming that I CAN. I'm complaining about the times when they just won't leave you alone and keep ruining your day.

If you're a nightblade it's easy. Just stealth away. If you're anything else YOU MOSTLY CAN'T GET RID OF THEM.

There. I had to put it in caps so the text is easier to read, since everyone seems to be missing the point.
