Base of Argonian Tails needs texture work

That doesn't look very nice, and since all outfit styles, including the Argonian culture specific ones are never designed to accommodate tails, it stands out even more.

But seriously, why can't outfit styles meant to be culturally specific to the Khajiit or Argonian peoples never designed to fit tails?

While I very much stand with you. I also under stand that the tail is what makes the designs on many outfit combos and costumes a pain design around.

Essentially, argonians (and khajiit to some degree) would need a unique lower armor designs.
In the past, the more I thought about it and tried my own design to promote and suggest a idea. I always ended up with a singular design (no matter if it was years later).

Which would clip with many upper armor styles as well. WHile I would love to see a fix to this. It probably wont be for a long while.

It's because the cut-out hole in your trousers has rubbed the scales off of the base of the tail. If nothing else, you should ask for either some padding on the armor or some scale oil so it doesn't chafe so much.

Argonians also have a texture seam problem. Try some marking that apply to the left side of the face, and then compare it to the right side. This can also be observed with several of the base body textures.

I think my main point got overshadowed. Im talking most about the tail itself, the texture gets cut off and stretched at the base.
