An idea for a snipe change

Hey gang.

This is just me thinking and getting thoughts for others. I know it won't happen but I wanna see what mindset yall are in.

So Snipe right?

What if it was changed to be this:

-Base ability renamed to 'Piecing shot'
*does lower damage than the current snipe but more damage than say, silver crossbow.
*castime removed from base ability

Morphs
1)Snipe
*Ability gains a cast time but increases the range, cost and damage of ability.
*Targets hit get minor fracture
*weaving impossible on this morph due to cast time.
*kiter playstyle for quick kills at range and not easily sustainable in prolonged fights. The equivalent of using a longbow in battle

2. Toxic shot
*Gains the current guaranteed poison application.
*Enemies take slightly more damage from light and heavy attacks while poisoned by this ability.
*Outperforms Snipe in damage if weaving is done correctly and made for skirmishing or boss fighting. Like using a short bow.

Assume the numbers balance out.

So one is for you snipe happy boys in pvp can still.have your fantasy while the pve boys can have a non clunky spamable.

Thoughts? Would you want that?

    As a pvp player yes I would very much appreciate a change like this, not everyone wants to be a sniper in cyrodiil and this would give more options to bow/bow builds, where fast-paced medium/short range builds would work much smoother :)

    Weaving impossible... why? Currently snipe can function with weaving as you LA the moment the snipe arrow goes off, there is not an actual "cast" time other than the wind up. You can especially see this effect on either NB or Sorc where they have abilities stacking off LA's. Basically two projectiles are flying at the exact same time so that may be why you never see it.
    Tldr; snipe doesn't actually prevent you from LAing despite appearance.

    snipe is fine as it is, doesn't need change.
    it does need the damage increased but other then that its fine.
    the only problem is lagg sometimes causes dysinc, but that already happens to all the other weapons and skills as well.

    I know the current snipe is possible to be weaved. It's just a bit clunky to do so which is my issue.

    I'm proposing that I'd you pick the 'snipe' morph you focus on one heavy shot instead of the more combat nature of abilities and weaving. It would hurt to get hit by it and retaining irs function as a long range "snipe" but like any weapon that is used for sniping it's not exactly a close or mid range weapon.

    I added the note about weaving because the snipe morph specifically would not be about weaving. If it was weaveable and had higher damage as well, it might just end up being a better spamable than the 'spamable' morph.

    The change is purely to create two playstyles more clearly.

    Agreed
    The suggestion is a nerf nothing more. Its just another blanket statement for a nerf. Very common on this forum, the sorcerer went through this type of follie.

    Hmmn, I think there is a cast time on Snipe to reduce the ability to spam it and weave it quickly, because its so powerful. This however does not mean it cant be used a spammable and woven with LA, it can and is, frequently, which I guess many dont like

    I use it on my stamblade bow/bow build. Admittedly Im not really using it as a "spammable", its used from stealth, then about every few seconds or so in between other skills. Although at great distance, yes its basically a spammable until the distance is closed.

    Personally I dont mind it how it is. But props for the idea.
