    Less enjoyable
    The homogenizing skill audit, wild swings in balance (DoT debacle), the addition of ulti cast times and general slowing down of combat in order to raise the floor and lower the ceiling have made combat less enjoyable to me overall.

    Buff all damage sources (including DoTs) to counter balance this ridiculous fake-me-out tank/healer meta were in. This would allow for faster more progressive game play.

    On balance, I find that every single patch/update makes my game less fun. I can't even list all that has been consistently stripped from the skills I love over the last 3+ years. My archers, healers and mages are all shadows of what they used to be. Experience has taught me to dread each and every update.

    I remember when Viper's Sting and Tremorscale both had instant damage procs. My StamDK was fun while that lasted.

    Less enjoyable. While I used to heavy attack in the past when I needed resources it never felt out of place. Now I heavy attack more often than I really should just to get enough magicka to hit someone. Its forced me to slot magicka drain skills like elemental drain or Siphon spirit while also chugging potions like there is no tomorrow.

    Changes to Crystal Frags, Overload, Grim Focus, Surprise Attack, Funnel Health, Refreshing Path, Incap Strike, Soul Shred, Spear Shards, Eclipse, Blade Cloak, Hidden Blade, Destructive Touch, Deep Fissure, Nature’s Grasp pull check, Dawnbreaker, Twin Slashes, Uppercut, sustain, bleeds, damage shields...... this isn’t even close to all of them.

    They standardized skill values/effects, heavily nerfed what used to be fun playstyles, and have more or less given us the same tools regardless of class but with different colors. So many bad changes have gone through.

    And also the new Necromancer class being the clear strongest spec in PvE. Next patch they will be very strong in PvP too. I hate to say it’s to sell their Elsweyr chapter more but it looks bad.

    Cast times are bad... but to me the absolute worst piece is the issues with sustain. Heavy attacks are boring, greatly lower dps, and often feel incredibly clunky.

    I hope the combat team and their superiors see this lol. The clearest indication that they are doing a poor job atm and shouldn’t be the people leading the charge for combat on ESO.

    Constant nerfs, unbalance and poor ideas generally (most the necromancer kit) has made combat so unenjoyable.

    Much less. Call it balance, call it deliberately shifting the meta, whatever you want, I don't think any class came away unscathed. Constant swings, nerfs, changes were just ridiculous and lets not forget some classes and entire play styles were completely trashed during the last year which is quite a blow to those who only play and enjoy limited characters.

    The newest patch was slightly promising in only that it wasn't full of massive changes but even that leaves you scratching your head. Classes being left with literally no viable stun, the nerfs to make new sets look better which are still garbage. And of course none of it address the mess left over from last year.

    I'm not a fan of ani canceling due to a bum hand but the last few design choices and adjustments really don't make combat fluid. You get crammed into limited skill choices and don't really have the same flexibility as you used to... or at least that's what it feels like.


    Honestly, I think the combat team has fallen into the trap of "seeking perfect balance". In a perfectly balanced game, you will have very few people be satisfied due to a very narrow scope of what works and what doesn't. Some things(like iceheart) don't hurt the majority but change the skill balance for the minority enough to allow enjoyment. This type of duality needs to exist. There need to be items that favor extreme skill and the extreme lack of skill.

    No game has ever done well with perfect balance. It's a running joke that perfect balance is a good way to perfectly close off your player base.

    Zerg of House Smallscale, First of his name, wielder of Volendrung, battleground hero, Cyrodiil butcher, the swifft footed, OG of the Templars and first pvpers, defender of scrolls and baiter of zergs.

    Current live is too restrictive. There are too many skill that cost too much to cast. Less options is never better.

    I would say less enjoyable but mostly because of the major changes every 3 months makes it hard to settle in. I say that being used to MMORPG balancing that means changes will happen, just generally not this big and frequent.

    In the end I hold out judgement until Zos is cone and the dust settles. Zos has demonstrated they have been both challenged balancing the game and lacked a vision since the baseline of changes in this game are much higher than any MMORPG I have played and Zos has reversed course on some changes as well. So if Zos truly has a vision and thought it out as they claim the game should be less volatile. We can hope.

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    Complete disregard for lore, homgenization and dumbing down of skills, killing of sustain, pushing people away from class skills and into buffed guild skills, and then pulling the rug out and nerfing guild skills to Oblivion, playing set roulette and making people gold out and then decon the meta sets every three months, nerfing player speed until we have to spam Rapids or Accelerate (with cast time, no less), making werewolf adhere to "standards" and thereby making them an ineffective afterthought only suitable for role playing purposes, cast times on ultimates, bleed damage gutted...


    Yeah, sorry, new combat team doesn't even play their own game, apparently. Spreadsheet balancing is a terrible idea. Nobody want to be the same as everybody else, only with different particle effects. Holding my breath, bracing for the new Dark Nerfs of Skyrim.

    I will never forget the "Rally" Nerf.

    I play no dungeons and no pvp, why you have touched my 2 handed heal skill?

    If you need to nerf it for cyrodiil, nerf it only there.

    I've never understood, why pve and pvp are not separated. Everytime there are skill or set nerfs because of that.
