I'm so GLAD that Midyear Mayhem is OVER

WHY does ZOS insist on forcing players to partake in broken and unbalanced PvP in this game for event tickets?

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING assuming this is 'fun' and 'accessible' for all?

PvP in this game is a horrid mess. You've never been able to balance it. You've never made it fun for all.

Just one OP meta after another where it's the same old, same old 'combat' experience.

Stunlock - Burst -Drain - Dead

What interaction! What 'combat'!

Brilliant job ZOS. You're awesome. This event was so much fun!

Thank god we won't be inflicted with that train wreck now for another year.

I know a lot of you that frequent this sub LOVE PvP - the more unbalanced, the better

But for the rest of us who DETEST PvP, it's always a painful experience to have to go through this garbage each year.

Whether it's faving pre-mades in BGs to Stealth gankers outside bases in Cyrodil, there's no way to participate in this mess and enjoy the experience if you're just looking for event tickets.

ESO PvP sucks. I hate it and I'm glad to see this stupid event over!

    Yes.

I was an Arena healer in WoW for 8 seasons - 2200+ rank each time.

WoW PvP laughs at ESO PvP in how bad it is.

From balance, to combat, to game modes.

There's not a single aspect of ESO PvP imho that's better than WoW PvP.

What? Your reply doesn't even make any sense regarding my comment. If you really want to buy event tickets, you can without having to PvP at all.

Just buy the tickets from the store then or do a scout mission in an empty campaign the next event. It's not harder than that

If those are the 'solutions' for the majority of PvE players who suffer this PvP rubbish, then it's a clear sign the event was utterly and hopelessly broken from the outset.

Like I said, some of you PvP die hards think events like this are awesome.

For the rest of us, it's not fun. It's tedious, annoying and frustrating.

Yay, some actual HONESTY from a PvP player.

See, this is the sort of thing we all know - but most PvPers will avoid stating like the plague because it really just confirms why PvE players detest these events.

The whole 'just BUY event tickets next time' is the worst 'solution' I've seen posted on these forums.

That said, ZOS would no doubt high five you all for even mentioning that...

'Game not fun? Just open your wallet and skip it!'

    Gross.

Oh poor you. No one forced you to do anything. This is literally the ONE PvP event we get compared to how many PvE events (which many of us find tedious)? Spare us the pity party.

    "Honesty" honey it's called a joke :#

Anyway, good to see this thread quickly deteriorated into "wah wah PVE gets 90% of all events and I don't care that it forces people to PVE but if there's 1 PVP event I throw a tantrum" again. Always the same. :D

I would love to not grind for gear sets to use in pvp..But pvpers dreadfully have to participate in pve just to get our gear..I mean i wish i could just buy my stuff from the crown store like you can buy your event tickets...

    ZOS did.

Tying event tickets to PvP is a terrible idea. They said 'want event tickets, go do PvP tasks - k go'

PvP players are loving it, everyone else just facepalms, rolls eyes and suffers through as much as they can tolerate.

Like I said, I'm delighted the event is gone.

Buying 'anything' in this game for real world $$ to save yourself inconvenience is a gross concept.

That's a whole other can of worms I won't open here, but I strongly protest the concept of 'buying tickets' with real $$$ as well.

I find that equally deplorable really.

Then don't get the tickets next time, it's as easy as that and the best part is that this rant thread making you look like a fool probably won't come next time it's midyear mayhem since you won't participate. Win win for everyone

There was actually a very nice thread where PVE players like me talked about their positive experienced with MYM. A lot of us were pleasantly surprised and got a good time, and there's also a decent amount of people that got into PVP through participating in MYM. For a lot of people it's a great introduction. The oversaturation of PVEers means that we're not just throwing ourselves into a lion's den, and with the amount of activity and excitement it's easy to have yourself a good time. You just have to go in with an open mind.

That said, ZOS doesn't force you to participate in events. Tying tickets to it is as terrible an idea as it is to tie them to PVE. The only alternative would be to revisit the anniversary event where tickets were given to us by using the cake memento. But as long as it doesn't happen, it's nice that there's at least one event based around PVP, for fairness' sake.

Yeah, awesome experience bro. What was I thinking?

When you come to new vTrial and your group get wiped, what do you do? Adapt and learn. Same here, what's the problem, it is absolutely normal to die in PVP. Most popular games all the gaming history are PVP games and people die and respawn and nobody perceives this as some kind of tragedy.

At least your primary complaint is having to put up with something that only happens once a year (if it doesn't get cancelled), meanwhile PvPers have to PvE often in order to PvP.

Unfortunately it's the only time of year where Cyrodiil is consistently active at all hours of the day across campaigns nowadays. Imperial City is the best, so obviously people are going to go in there and kill all the PvErs in the sewers, because it's the only time of year there are people down there. There's also almost never people questing in Cyrodiil near the towns and nearby delves, so obviously PvPers are going to take advantage of the opportunity to fight in fresh environments rather than continue to fight in the same places they do everyday, which is in the inner circle of the map in or between keeps.

And yeah, killing blatant PvErs who are CP1000+ but still don't know how to use class skills or heal themselves is a little icing on the cake because the forum posts it provides is hilarious.

    Edgy.

Doesn't alter the fact, the only yearly 'hurrah' for PvP dude Bros to 'farm' clueless PvE players is over.

...and I'm delighted by the fact.

This event isn't as bad in Cyrodil as it is in BGs though. Whilst it's very typical and pathetically lame for stealth door campers (cause nothing tells the world how GOOD you are at video games when you spawn camp unsuspecting PvP players and gank them, amirite?), the overall experience there (outside of the LAG LAG and MORE LAG) is decent.

But BGs? Oh dear god, where do I even begin at how BAD BGs are balanced in this game?

I mean, the upcoming nerf to pre-mades queing into BGs is definitely welcome, but IMHO it's just yet another damning indictment on the core mindset of the PvP playerbase.

Unfair is all fair in ESO PvP which is honestly why so many PvE players find the experience (and the elitist playerbase behind it) so utterly distasteful.

Anyway, none of this matters. I've said my peace on the subject. I'm glad this PvP train wreck is over for another year, now you can all go back to pwning each other instead of farming rabbits and beating your chests at how awesome you all are at video games.

    Have a nice day all.

As someone who enjoys every aspect of Tamriel; I quite liked this event. Sad to see it's over. Thanks to those who participated.

What I do find rather concerning is seeing someone getting this upset over an online experience.

You do know nobody is forcing you to partake in the event, right? You can just skip it if you don't like it. Perhaps something to consider next year 😉

And to those claiming this event was exclusive to PvP'ers only: anyone is entitled to take part, that's the point of these events.

Not every event is for everyone. Because ZOS makes an activity available to those who will enjoy it, doesn't mean you have to participate. The notion that others shouldn't be rewarded for participating in activities which they enjoy, and I don't, is just silly. If I were you, I'd give serious thought to why you feel compelled to get tickets at every opportunity--even when getting them involves activities you dislike. Do you really like all the indriks and styles so much that you "need" all of them?

The event is over so you're safe for at least six months, but next time you could try the scouting missions: they simply require you to go near a random resource/keep not owned by your alliance at the time you take the quest, stand there a few seconds and then get back to your base.
I did a couple of scounting missions each day during the event, as I find riding through Cyrodiil relaxing, and I never met anyone; with maxed speed on your mount you should be done in fifteen minutes at worst (your alliance gated and the mission objective near another alliance's base).
The only points where you risk meeting opposition is when crossing bridges or going through milegates, but a quick look to the map to see who's fighting where should be enough to choose the safest path.
