Change to prophets voice?

Why does the prophets voice change from Gambon in the Wailing Prison to someone else when I land in Tamriel?

Yea it does all messed up.... Maybe his contract expired?ahahahahaahhaha or maybe just that one line was rewritten due to the new starting experience. Get to lvl 5 u see him again then repost.

Honestly the thrill of doing the Main Quest has gone down for me, it just doesnt make sense that his voice actor changed all of a sudden.. unless.. theres a story to it.

I think they had to add the new 'skip the starter islands' part with a different voice actor... It goes back to Michael Gambon later

I cringed so badly when it wasn't Michael Gambon speaking. Totally broke all immersion.

This is one of the reasons I would have sooner we started on the starting instead of the main town, as there would be little to need need for these dialogue changes to be made.

It will be a place holder until the can get him to voice the bits that they had to add when they added the skip the starter island addition. Hes a popular actor dont you know and I cant see ESO being his highest paying job this year

If they can get Gambon back in to do these lines properly that'd be great. Having someone who sounds nothing like the Prophet say those post-starter island lines is one of the most awkward and disconcerting gaming experiences I've had in a while.

And yes, for those who are wondering, Gambon does voice the Prophet once again later on. It's just these new post-Coldharbour lines not voiced by Gambon, as far as I can tell.

I'd imagine that Gambon had done his thing already, and they recorded that line with a different voice actor rather than bring him in again for one line (?)

Nope, they actually changed a few voices, since they did change the starting experience somewhat... in beta we started on the starter island, not the main city hub, so some changes had to be made last minute, I guess.

Because a bunch of fools complained during beta that they didn't like the island and somehow that translated to dropping you in the city and letting you do the island, instead of dropping you on the island and letting you leave if you like. No real accounting for bad managerial decisions in big companies.

The prophet was also the voice in the intro for skyrim and other characters. I cant immerse myself knowing this guy s voice spans 3-5 other character voices.

You are thinking of Max Von Sndow and Christopher Plummer. This is the first time we hear Michael Gambon.

As for the voice actor chance for the lines right after leaving the Wailing Prison, that was a very late game change, and they did not have time to re-record his lines.
