chat not always working

I am cp 1200 on xbox but started to play on pc again because it feels refreshing starting from scratch.

I can chat in guild no problem but many times in groups or zone chat, i type out my message and nothing appears. What am i missing? thanks
Happens every time in BG. other day i was in reapers and did a /zone and a /shout to tell people WW were up, i type it out, hit enter. nothing.

Make sure that you are on a chat tab that has that particular channel active. If you are on a chat tab that does not have the channel you want to use active, it won't show and it may not show for other players since that channel was not active on the chat tab you typed it in.

That said, I do recall a guild member saying something and then repeating it because they had been on a different chat tab and had not seen it displayed. So your messages may still be getting out even if they are not showing up due to not having those channels active on the current tab.

Otherwise, the only reason I can think of that would prevent you from using certain channels is when lying dead in a PVP zone. You can chat in group but not in zone or guild.
