You see the problem here? I recently maxed out my character slots, I had 9 on this account previously, with only 8 used. I make a 9th character, and now when I log in, switch characters, etc. I have this text above all my characters. Ridiculous. The only way I can get rid of it, is to not have my slots full OR I would assume max out all character slots available. I already get crown store ads when I log on, but you are telling me, I am gonna have this TEXT above all my characters now too?! This isn't even to mention my floating mounts on the character select. You are trying to drive me INSANE!

Eh, I don't really see that one as an Ad, but more of a service announcement.

(It reminds me of some of the other games I've played - like in Star Trek Online, there are 'rename' and "add another character slot" buttons on the character select page, with the mark that they're cash currency items.)

edit: I'm at 8/8 slots on ESO, and thinking about it I can't even remember where that note is on my select screen because my eye just skips over it as 'no big deal'. /shrug

Your nerf suggestion is dumb. Learn to counter other players instead of having the game rebuilt to your ability level.

It ruins the feng shui of the character select. Instead of just showing 9/9 or 8/9 now it has a block of text above all my characters. It is intrusive. It should be a lot less in your face.

it bothers me too. I have 8 characters rn because i cant stand having the big obnoxious block of text telling me "YOU MUST SPEND MONEY" every time i log in. I already get enough blatant "you are not enough" advertisement just trying to exist as a human being. it should be an ad you can X out.

If you make it 13/13 that block of text should be permanently there - telling you to buy more spots since you are using all your current number.

We sunk in premium shops, clown crates, care packages premium boosters long time ago, not Eso but gaming industry in general. Once the industry started to make more money than Hollywood, about late 90's, greedy sub-humans in ties and black suits calling themselfs market, sales and what not managers stepped in.

Good old days where you bought the product, and on long term mmo projects you had subscription to support development and the game running, are long gone.

Now you buy virtual shop called game to buy more.

The problem is them telling me that I can buy more slots on the crown store. I know I can buy more slots on the crown store, I do not need a permanent reminder as long as I have no open slots currently.

You know, I can't even remember how long since I actually noticed it. I've got 15/15 on my second NA account. I'm sure the "ad" for the other three is there, but I just never see it. I may never buy those other three slots.... I guess each of us is a bit triggered by different things.

Do you have to click on it in order to log in or select a character? Does it stay on your screen while playing the character?

I so then yes, Zos needs to do something about it. If it is just a simple noticed as others have suggested then it is really not a big deal at all. Ignore it like many of us do.

    Greetings,

After removing a few posts from this thread, we would like to remind everyone that Baiting is a violation of our rules. It is stated as follows:
Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
When creating threads/posts we ask that they be kept civil, constructive, and within the guidelines of the rules in place. If there may be any question in regards to the rules, please feel free to review them here.

    Thank you for your understanding,

Easy enough fix for a non-issue.
Buy the other nine slots and the thing that you're irrationally upset about will vanish from your character list.

Just be glad you didn't buy all the 18 characters - then half of your characters would be stuck below the line and you'd have to scroll to get to them - and your character list would always display your first 9 characters when you log in, even though your last played character is at the very bottom. ;)

Yes, the character selection screen could use some serious changes. :p

Yep. I think it was Jim Sterling who called this a "buy to buy" model. Games are just a storefront offering you the possibility of spending additional and unlimited amounts of money on virtual items.
