I once posted on a lion forum before going on a safari tour to make sure the lions knew that I was just there to take pictures and stuff so that they would not maul me and consume my dead flesh. All of the lions were like LOL NOOB L2P, so I totally understand the tensions in this thread.

Also, I highly suspect that a lot of the lions in that forum are probably other species just trolling humans. I have no proof of course, it's just a feeling.

Yesterday I was questing in one of the small towns and saw a player of a different faction doing the same. I had every intention of letting him quest in peace but he attacked me and that ended that.

I love the cold hearted responses! Very typical. How's the pvp population looking outside of events?

I actually haven’t seen anyone questing from a different faction while I was on both 30 campaigns. Personally, I’ve decided not to attack anyone obviously questing.

Also, I haven’t seen anyone messing with questers on either 30 day campaign. I’ve clipped plenty of people who attacked me who obviously didn’t know what they were doing. They were “trying” to PvP so of course they were fair game.

@Cirantille the forum has heard your confession and finds your contrition sincere. Your penance shall be to spare the next Khajiit you have opportunity to gank, and refrain from t-bagging For three days time.

In addition, you shall place one 🧶 in Rimmon that a Khajiit of poor fortune may smile.

    Go and sin no more.

You really shouldn't feel bad, OP (even though I find it nice that you do). If we PvE people go into Cyro we fully expect to be ganked at some point. I sure know I do and I wouldn't be upset, I mean, that's the nature of Cyro. I've been lucky so far during the event, but I'm pretty sure at some point, someone will kill me - and that's okay, PvP in ESO only gets two events per year while PvE gets... I don't know, 10 or so? I actually find it to be a bit of a thrill, trying to stay unnoticed while fulfilling my objectives. But I probably haven't and people have just been nice as well, because they could see I'm a quester :D

Also true, there isn't a solid way to know unless they tell you that

Which also happened, a few players who wanted buy gear from town asked us so we let them cap it for a while they are shopping :D

For example, I have a newly baby Magdk who is at "volunteer" rank which probably not my best play but still... :D

I know you'll find it funny but I am kinda upset and I feel like a horrible person. Prolly ruined his night by this

So both alliances were tryna cap towns, castles to approach the scroll we are holding. While pushing back, we killed them in Cropsford. But 2 of them hid in the house. So I told my guildies and we got in and killed them.

But halfway through I realised he was a "Tyro" and tried to "whirling blades" all the way :/ And he was taking a quest :|

Then I thought of whispering him or her and sending something but I thought it would be awkward

Anyway off my chest topic, he was such a cute Khajiit, and Khajiit make sad sounds when they die :'(

I don't know how people camp these poor fellows, like they are so harmless and dying so easily

And it feels... kinda bad to kill people who can't put up a fight

Or maybe he was a really bad pvp players, Idk those are not uncommon too, sigh

There was a discussion of a DC "farming Chey in zone the other night. I went there and the dude ran away. Turns out he was a quester soloing. I never attack them, but I make it very clear that my group is not there to be farmed. Im not the best PvPer, but I can play StamDK and I will snare and pressure them infinitly.

I never attack first (PvE in a PvP world), but if I get killed in a PvP are it’s all good.

That said, if you pretend to not notice me, I am grateful...

It's unfortunate yes but sometimes it happens.

I was doing the quests up north in Bruma, inside the building I ran into an 810 yellow. My weapons were sheathed and I didn't attack, I checked the map and yellow had nothing (so he ran the whole map to get there).
Obviously he started attacking me, at first I vigoured through it but he went all out, I didn't want to kill him but 2 seconds later I put him down. I'm sure he regrets that, he would've had to play horse simulator to come back...

During this event, I'm trying to just sneak in each day, mind my own business, peacefully run a scouting quest, and leave, but yesterday some eager person just insisted on attacking me as I tried to sneak by a town.

So I smooshed him. : P This was actually kind of satisfying. ; )

Welcome to cyrodil I say. I go out of my way to kill every single player I come across no matter if they are a newb pve player or a hardcore pvp player they are all the same to me. If your just trying to quest your going to have to just accept that you are in a zone where players kill players

Yeah people generally accept there are a-holes in the world. We just like to dream of a better world though.

I just check the transitus when I get in and see if my towns are available. if not, I come back at another time.

There's one Quest Giver in Cropsford that's inside one of the houses. It's a favorite for organized groups to sit in and farm anyone who tries coming through the door.

Both quest givers in Bruma, and one each in Vlastarus and Cropsford. Worse, the doors for the latter two are so close to the central flag that if your alliance doesn't control them you have to fight a bunch of npc guards just to be able to get through the door because you can't use doors in combat (something that absolutely needs to be changed for Cyrodiil.) But even if your alliance controls the town there's nothing to stop griefers from a different alliance from setting up shop inside one of the buildings and killing you while you're zoning in and before you're even able to do anything to defend yourself. Another thing I've seen done is to not kill someone but keep them locked in combat forever so they can't even leave the building - except by leaving the campaign, which if the campaign is full might mean not getting back in for awhile. That should be a reportable offense (remove the restriction on using doors in combat in cyrodiil and that form of griefing becomes impossible anyway).

The whole place is just so poorly designed, and is a griefer's paradise in far too many ways to count. A PvP zone should not have had what are effectively PvE objectives, period.

As a PVE'er, I've been doing just one scouting mission per day for the event tickets. I personally find them easier than the town quests, depending on map control, of course. If my faction doesn't control much territory, I'll either leave Cyro and try again later, or log in with a character in a different faction.

Anyway, so far this event I've only been caught and killed once. I didn't get upset about it, I just tried again later and was successful.

Once I get to the scouting location and get the report, I immediately run to the nearest NPCs for a quick suicide and port back to base. I must confess to feeling a perverse sense of pleasure when I do this, as I know I'm denying a PVP'er an easy kill. ;)

You will always find PvEplayers in PvPenvironments. We need the SouldShards, and we need Assault Rank 6 for Razor Caltrops.
For me thats always the worst thing about making a new Character. I hate it, a lot.

I don't PVP but have participated in this event and have done everything from town quests, to shard/delve hunting and joining in the battles for keeps. I'vee been ganked 3 times, twice in delves and once trying to turn in a quest. I don't get angry or upset but I don't fight back either.

To those of you who let me turn in my quests and complete shard/delve runs, thanks. To those of you who killed me, don't feel bad, I was in a PVP zone and while inconvenient because sometimes the run was sooooooo far I just left Cyro, I fully expect to get killed.

Remove the doors like they removed the doors on the resource towers who was an serious pain.
The event, after the first day and a bit on the second, select the campaign owned by your faction and its pretty much PvE zone, its still an danger but less than questing in Elsweyr or Wortguard and die of falling of an cliff

My issue this year was lack of rewards and real life stuff.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Overall, I found the less-populated campaigns to be very kind towards PvE’ers this time around. Several times I blew by the enemy and knew there was no way they missed seeing me, but they let me go on my way. Which was super-appreciated for a lone Yellow scouting in enemy territory. LOL

The most memorable death was actually when I ran across someone who is a guildmate in 2 of my guilds (one that I GM, the other I’m an officer in). They were Red and setting up siege against a keep I’d been trying to get to in order to head back to base after a successful scouting mission. They hesitated and we kinda stood there looking at each other for a moment, recognizing screen names but realizing our colors. I guess there was hesitation to kill me given rank in both shared guilds. LOL To which I said, “Enjoy the free AP, I just wanna go home now. Please send me home.”

    They obliged. LOL

I am a primarily PvE player (just a lowly sergeant in PvP), and I usually ignore enemy players near quest givers...... unless they attack me or are fighting NPCs to take flags. And I never draw first blood in delves or camp skyshards, etc, because I know how frustrating it can be for new or new to PvP players to just get steamrolled at first.

Keeps and outposts are a different matter. You know why those folks are there, and that they are looking to kill you. I get it that there are no rules in a PvP zone, but even in real war there are numerous cases of people being civil to one another during lulls in the fighting, and I can appreciate it when such things happen in game as well.

there are ways to show if your there for quests or dont wanna fight, I tent to look for those

like if they just keep holding block and dont use dps skills
or they keep jumping as a sign to show they dont want to fight
start going backwards showing they are not a treat

Okay, if the jumping one is well accepted, that would explain why I have a hard time getting some players to kill me when I want a bloodport somewhere else. I was using it to get their attention. Along with the play dead emote when they don’t bite at first. Then it’s like, well, I don’t want to attack them to egg them on because they’re being so polite.
