I have the "could not retrieve announcements" error again AND I've already tried checking for updates, checked my firewall and repaired the launcher. NOTHING WORKS!

So my repair got stuck veryfying files and it seemed to have bogged down my entire rig! Once I shut down and rebooted launcher worked fine. Wierd but I'm in

Thanks for the info @DarthDowty . Tried that. I'm past the launcher but when I try to get to the character screen, I stay in a super long loading screen and then get kicked due to inactivity. Loading screen is lasting over 5 minutes.

@ZOS_GinaBruno can we get some feedback from the devs, please?

Dear ZOS,

Well, I finally made it into the game. I would like you to know that I had to repair the game no less than 8 times. I have come to understand that this is sometimes a regular occurrence for some of your customers. It would go a long way for me to hold my temper if I understood a bit more of why this happens after a short patch on occasion. Please fill us in so that we can be more understanding while we sit and work on the same thing over and over again for two hours straight.

Same is happening for me, only repair doesn't help. Tried it three times as well as rebooting my pc, no dice. Seriously?

How do I fix this. Redowloading isn't an option as I'm on limited data and we have to do it in a few weeks.

So one reboot of pc, two restart of launcher and four freaking repairs it finally decided to work. Loading screens are enormously long though and I've been booted to login screen 4 times. You managed to bork something alright.

I am getting horrible lag after this patch. I normally get 100 ping it now fluctuates between 133 and 999, with huge spikes, I have already repaired, without any positive result, is anyone else having these problems? If so are they being addressed by ZOS? The game was in perfect working order on sunday, now I cannot even play...

same here. My ping has been up to 13K. Booted a number of times too

I had this same problem. Had to repair repeatedly, restart PC more than once, and when I finally did get a "Play" button on my launcher, I received an immediate fatal error that caused the game to crash before the whole "Zenimax" and whatnot even started to appear on screen. This has happened now multiple times, despite me (again) restarting my computer more than once. At this point, I have been unable to access the game. I have already disabled all add-ons, and it has not helped.

Jan 27th patch brought back old issues.

* Noticeable ping spikes. Jumps to 350, 770, and 1K plus, then yo yos up and down.

* I got soft booted out of game just standing in my home. Three times within half an hour.
* Trying to do a few writs on my alts took so long because the logging in/out of game took much longer than usual.

* And oh, the cannot-loot-due-out-of-range is back with a vengeance. The entire group experienced this while doing a pledge run. Needless to say, I didn't bother to do any more pledges last night because game was laggy to trhe point of unfun.

I was finally able to access the game after doing TWO completely fresh installs, which took hours. Add-ons were not at all the cause of this issue - now that I have the game running, it does run regardless of whether I have an add-on folder full or not. And it did NOT run when I had no add-on folder in my ESO folder in my PC.

PC NA, as always. Not that it mattered, since my issues were happening before I was even able to get to the server select/log-in screen.

Yeah, I'm experiencing this as well. The game ran fine before, now I can hardly play at all.
