Don't play PVP.

If you're new or new-ish player, just don't play PVP. ESPECIALLY below Level 50.

Absolutely ZERO thought or effort has gone into maintaining ANY kind of balance in any of the PVP game modes. Below level 50 being some of the absolute worst of it. If you can't craft top-tier gear, buffs and potions (which can take months to research enough traits to do) and pay to unlock the extra skill lines (maxed out using a high level main) using Crowns, you have absolutely NO chance of competing AT ALL.

It's not a question of skill or class. It's not a question of builds. You can't "git gud". It's a pure "craft and pay to win" game and there's nothing you can do about it.

If you're looking for a PVP game to jump into. This isn't it. Don't waste your time or your money.

PvP needs to be canceled and resources put in good use instead of wasting in that group of 5% players being not useful to game or anyone.
ESO is sold based on PVE legacy anyway.
As someone said, they need to be contained in that map of theirs, with no influence on game whatsoever.
Game has been broken so many times by trying to balance that game "mod", su much waste.
So much money being wasted on pvp, so much nerfs/buffs, so much work hours.
If there is no pvp Eso, could have funded a space force program or at least ESO 2 engine.
    So much resources.
Make PvP secondary feature, Make ESO great again.

they can also drop dungeons and trials and put resources in good use instead of wasting in that group of 5% players being not useful to game. ESO is sold based on PVE legacy so theres no need in anything except quests, outfits and households

I literally just made a char (my son wanted to try the game so I started over with him) I leveled it to 10 and went to cyro banged out some quick xp till level 15 then went straight to bg’s.

I’m having no issues. The scaling prevents it being too bad. Also I did not craft myself anything I’m literally rocking rewards of the worthy gear.

Also op if you would like a set crafted just ask.

Sets for below level 50 are so cheap I’d do it for free.

I’m sure others would as well.

Cyro is so much easier than bg’s if you are bad. Stay in the Zerg and don’t fall too far behind.

Sounds a lot like l2p even though I dislike that terminology.

Bad advice. If you are in any way curious about PvP and are below level 50 jump into the below 50 campaign. Sure when you start you are going to get wrecked but it doesn't take long to start figuring things out. Beyond that most the campaigns have groups willing to pick up stragglers. Get into one of those and work support for a while to get used to how PvP works.

Don't go into below 50 thinking you are going to dominate or that the fights will be fair. They won't be. Learn from all the dying and when you get into the other campaigns you will be much better off. Kinda need the same mentality of progression trial groups. You run some knowing you aren't going to get to the end but all those failures eventually get you where you want to be.
It was the Midyear Mayhem event that convinced me to spend some time in PvP. Before that my PvP experience was being killed while trying to get all the trophy fish. I didn't think I would like PvP at all. The event changed my mind. Give it a try and stay long enough to not just be fodder. If you still don't like it, hey at least ya gave is real shot. If you think you might like PvP then you just found a whole new part of the game to play.

I jumped into pvp at around lvl 30. On my first toon, with no high lvl alts or any in-game friends. Sucked at first but after a few dozens of BG matches started doing 20+ kills to a couple of deaths regularly. Maybe that's because I was trying to improve

I've been doing the event on a 2nd account and so far the only enemy player I saw waved to me and went on their merry way. This event is happening in a PvP zone but there is PvE content in there that will give you rewards. Don't remember if some of the achievements are PvP exclusive but if you don't PvP those achievements shouldn't matter anyway.

Andddd here's the problem with everything you've all said... I'm NOT the one having the issues. It's the people I'm being grouped with every game where only 2-3 players out of 12 are racking up 10-30 kills, and these poor, new, average players are lucky to score a SINGLE kill. They complain in group chat, I tell them how it is (as per my OP) and they quit.

These are GAME DESIGN ISSUES that need looking at, because these are the issues that kill playerbases, and queues are already absolute trash.

For anyone saying "I'm just using this and blah blah" just wait. Come back when you've run into a 4 stack using Psijic skill lines in a pre-50 BG and tell me how it went for you when you couldn't even drop them below 75%.

If you're doing well with "just reward bag gear" then you just haven't been playing it long enough to get matched up.

theres no victory without defeat. dont pvp if you are a whiny coward because you will die a lot before you get gud and even then you will continue to die since pvp is about dying killing and dying again

    Here's one.

who? its a bgs stat of my new char in random gear from reward boxes. my main is a magicka sorc i dont know how to play as a sneaky stamnb cat but i can kill and win matches. of course i die a lot but who cares Screenshot-20200126-012812.png

This is purely talking about Cyrodil, which is a hybrid game mode that a lot of high-geared players aren't bothering with below level 50 because it takes forever and often not a lot even happens. Pre-50 Cyrodil is like 50% running around because the travel system is terrible.

Yes. If you go into Cyrodiil (even the below 50 campaign) in bad gear with no buffs or potions.. you are not going to win many fights. You really do not need to buy skill lines to compete. Buying skyshards will definitely help a lot but you can get by with just picking them up as you find them.

So like... craft some good 5pc sets for PVP, use Impen trait, make sure you have buff skills loaded & running & use some tri-pots. SORTED! Now get in there ya scamp!

OP decides one day to take up boxing, so they go to the local boxing gym and put some gloves on and jumps in the ring with guys who have been there years.
After taking a royal ass whooping OP goes onto the boxing forums and tells people not to waste their time with boxing as its full of people who are good and have good equipment.

Takes time to be good at an MMO, like most things, put the time and effort in and you will get rewarded, [snip].

Dont let OPs post discourage ANYONE from playing in pvp in CP, Non-CP, BGs and under 50 because honestly if you are playing a game I'm pretty sure you're here to play the game and just get away from reality. So just enjoy your time in ESO and have fun. Also on a side note I'm sorry but OP is wrong when saying it would take months to get just a good setup going and all of that because like many others I have started over on different accounts and servers and depending on how you play it can take a few days-years if being honest to get where u want in the game since it's an MMO and always changing. But still have fun and enjoy your stay ✌

You can do scouting missions without ever engaging with other players if you do it right-- sneak there and back, and stick to trees and rocks as much as possible, avoid roads and open spaces (basically, avoid any route you would be taking if you were on a mount).
