Crashed and PS4 Pro switched itself off, cannot be restarted

I have had heaps of blue screens and the occasional black screen. But my PS4 has never died before. Hope it’s not permanent, but still refuses to restart.

Restarted. Wheezing like a pack a day smoker, but running nonetheless. Maybe overheated?

As posted here, a patch is planned for December 18th to help with PS4 performance to deal with the crashing issues.

Sounds like it might be overheating. Make sure vents/heat sink/ fan is clean of dust. Its important that fan blades( any fan blades) have their surface free of dust. The more dust on the blades the less effective the blade is at moving air. I use a combination of a vacuum with a small crevice tool, compressed air( canned air), and a dry lint free cloth to clean electronics.

Also make sure you have good airflow around the unit with a couple of inches of clearance by any vents. Also that it is not near any heat sources such as central air vents, radiators, in sunlight ,etc.

buy some compressed air, take the lid off the system, take the system outside, provided not raining or snowing, and spring clean that thing so all the dust is gone. can even try rubbing alcohol with q-tips, as the rubbing alcohol will just evaporate, but that is a little excessive. would only use it to pick up dust that the compressed air can couldn't quite clear.

as an aside, rubbing alcohol would be used when replacing the heat sink on a computers cpu to clear the previous thermal paste before a new coat of thermal paste can be applied to the CPU.

use the can to blow the compressed air through the front and out the back, the way the airflow would naturally go.

unplug the power cable, hold down the power button to clear the capacitors on the motherboard of any stored power, plug it back in. see if it boots.

"a capacitor is a tiny electrical component soldered to the motherboard. Capacitors perform a couple of different functions. First, a capacitor conditions DC voltage to other components (e.g. the video card, hard drive, sound card etc) as a way to provide a steady stream of power"
