They are trying to find a replacement hamster. The last one was not happy with its working conditions and broke the grouping mechanics.
My wild guess is they test grouping works in NA and traders are properly assigned at EU before putting servers online or declaring extended maintenance because hamsters need more duct tape.

But ok, its ZOS we re talking about. They did a maintenance on Thursday and the server was running worse than before. Give them to time.

Would be the kind of incompetent behaviour you´d expect from ZOS. Still, an update on the matter would be welcome, if they are able to realize about it.
The intended maintenance was to do with group (activity) finder.
So I am assuming like RPA that it is taking longer to sort that out due to NA having issues last night.
I hope they will sort traders on EU as well.
By the way I have heard they are moving to rabbits instead of hamsters.
They breed more prolifically so more replacement stocks.

They claimed the group finder was fixed.....
"fixed" is a strong word for ZOSThe intended maintenance was to do with group (activity) finder.
