The easiest way to find out would be to try some basic actions using a mouse and keyboard and see if they appear to be more responsive...
agree 100%
puts you at disadvantage in combat and also the ui is horrible.
gamepad mode sadly has been neglected by zos forever, i doubt it's a steam issue...
still i wouldn't give up the comfort of my ps4 controller for anything
i don't pvp much these days, in pve it's not that much of an issue for me luckily
but i hope one day they will fix these issues.
not native, but steam does that for you. works really well. i tried the driver workaround before and had issues, i'm glad i switched to steam. works automatically, no third-party program or custom remapping needed. Is PS4 controller support native in ESO now? Forgive my possible ignorance, but I've been under the impression that ESO on PC has native XInput support (the XBox controller standard) but PlayStation controllers need to go through a special driver to translate into XInput for the game.
interesting... i will give it a tryMashmalloMan wrote: »Oh and clicking my right stick is my weapon swap, left on d-pad is sneak. Way easier. Highly recommend.
@UnseenCat i had two xbox controller but they wore out quick while playing this game, might give it another try though when i used them, the aiming speed i mentioned was still an issue.
@TheFM which controller do you use?

I play with an x-box controller, it’s more comfortable. I also keep dropping the controllers on a hardwood floor and am on my 4th.
Someone mentioned in another thread you can play with the settings and increase the turn speed. I lost the post and after reading it the turning speed is crazy slow.
Being hard wired helps make it more responsive.

XB1 original controller, thing has stood the test of time =P. Elite is also a good option, but the sticks wear down, so i just like to get original xb1 ones.
My controller setup is this. Also takes into account first three slots of Dressing Room.
Here is also a link of how to change the sensitivity so the controller turn speed isnt abysmally slow.https://youtu.be/Nuy2LFTw1HY

Like in game sens even maxed is unplayable, people can literally walk around you and you can't hit them, you will need to go into the game folder and change the sens.
Keybindings are also odd, needing to press both keys for bash and ult for example caused me many issues, like only one of the buttons pressing instead of using your ult. So often I would use a buff instead of doing my damage ult, losing me the fight.
Only issues I have with controller now is a very rare bug where a different skill will go off rather than the one I actually pressed (sucks trying to execute someone and just buffing instead) or the dumb fact I can't unbind first person. So many times I press weapon swap and the pad puts me into first person instead, then I need to waste a gcd changing back instead of healing or something.
I wish they would fix some of the controller issues.
