Dual Wield Magicka Templar possible?

I'm sick of both bars being staff, so I was looking into switching it up.
If I put stuff like Harness Magicka(192 mag returned each time I take damage) and Radiant Aura(10% rec + mag steal to all nearby enemies for 24 secs), would it work?
Could the sustain be good enough that I don't have to keep switching back to the staff bar?

✭✭✭✭✭Many ways to build for sustain, especially in PvP where this can be done relatively well. PvE is a lot more rigid and CP is too low to double dip stats. No CP PvP will work best since it's more of a level playing field vs other people not double dipping stats.
There are many double dipping options that actually reward you for double dipping...
Make sure to do dual wield swords, new moon acolyte + shacklebreaker + dark elf + sugar skull food + undaunted 5/1/1 + prismatic glyphs all pieces. Regen glyphs on jewelry if you need them. Dual stat mundus stone like lover (pen), thief (Crit) or shadow (Crit DMG). Lover would be best choice for PvP since Crit is meh.
Effectively, it's a hybrid build if you wanted to use more stamina skills, but if you didn't, it at least gives you stats both ways making your light/heavy attacks much better then wet noodles which is the bigger problem of using melee weapons as a Magicka build.Edited by MashmalloMan on January 19, 2020 9:24AM2 -

✭✭✭Answer depends really on where you’re trying to use it. I use DW, 2H, Destro and resto staff on a lot of builds depending on the spec and setting and I only play mag specs. They all have their ups and downs.
Resto staff:
- resto staff abilities
- decent passives for healing
- lets you heavy attack at range for major mending
Destro staff:
- Destro staff abilities
- Passives are weak unless you’re using Destro staff abilities, except the last one that gives lots of mag when you kill someone. Adds a lot of sustain in pve and pvp ball groups
- Ranged light attacks
DW:
- highest possible healing or damage tooltips. The best setup is MH Nirnhoned and OH Powered or Sharpened (decisive or charged on some builds maybe for a DK)
- If you’re a DK or Warden BRP DW can work and use quick cloak. Only works on a class/spec with a ton of offstat sustain
- Melee light attacks, but as a healer you have the option using symbiosis and making your light attacks ranged
2h:
- 2nd highest tooltips possible, but no splitting traits advantage
- Passives give stamina which is handy in pvp
- Symbiosis again
Don’t underestimate the power of light attacks. I primarily pvp and have found for dps or healing staves are the way to go in most settings. In larger groups I use DW as a magblade and MagWarden healer on one bar, 2h as a magtemplar. 2h looks and fits magtemplar better imo.Edited by Iskiab on January 19, 2020 12:05PMLooking for any guildies I used to play with:

It'll suck for sustain, probably, but you can go dual swords, since it boosts damage overall, and it will work with Magicka skills.0 -

Yea, this is the crux of it. Using DW over a destro staff will get you maybe a 10% higher tooltip and more pen, but light attacks are huge.
LAs when you LA weave is maybe 3-4k damage per LA. You have to be almost all aoe for the other weapons to pull ahead.Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
