Oh boy I screwed up on the Greymoor Purchase buying the 79$ Digital collectors instead of 49$

I did this on steam.
I wanted to get the death hound and other stuff. I thought it was only with the 79$ so I bought that with the tax it was 85 dollars
But now I saw there was the same thing for 49 dollars and it was an upgrade didn't have to pay 85 dollars what should I do here?
I'm not sure how to ask for a refund so I can buy the right version. So I might have to live with it. What do you guys think I should do? Because getting a refund and buying the cheaper version and then I could use the refund money to buy more crowns. Or wait for sub renew and then buy more crowns. I only realized this now after I was looking at it all because I was going to make a poll on which version people were going to buy or have bought.
If the digital collectors upgrade gave the death hound and everything. It was only 49.99 dollars then I really made a mistake. So what should I do?
Edit: Got the refund waited 24 hours, re bought the 49 dollar version of the chapter with tax 53 something dollars and bought 5500 crowns afterwords.

Do some overtime? You're going to waste more time trying to correct it with customer service than you would if you just tried to make $30 somehow.

I don't work my folks do and I live at home 24 7. Get 50 dollars every two weeks. So that wouldn't be much of an issue. Not like I'm tight on cash. No Its just annoying. I want to be able to get all those bonus rewards but If I could have done it without paying 85 dollars where 30 of that could have been put to better use well that is whats bugging me now.

I use steam wallet for everything so that doesn't matter to me. Because I'm not how the refund would work with eso I guess the horse would be taken away but all I want to do is switch which version I have. I don't know on this.

1. Go to your steam library
2. up top there's a 'help' drop down, very top
3. hit 'steam support'
4. select the game you bought
5. follow the steps and request a refund

Tell them you already have the base game; that you meant to buy the upgrade version, but you accidentally purchased the full version, and you'd like to switch to the upgrade version.

Alright I sent the refund request. I hope it goes through. Then I will buy the cheaper digtal edition. Hopefully it goes through.

This is what I put hopefully its good enough.
I wanted to get the digital collecters edition. But I didn't know that the cheaper version gave the stuff like the death hound or the other stuff. I already have the other chapters and their bonus items so Its like I rebought the game fully instead of getting the content I wanted. I'm just going to ask for a refund for this and then rebuy the cheaper version and use the money left over to buy subcriptions or crowns with. Might as well get 30 dollars back if I didn't have to pay that much.

They gave me a choice on getting the refund to my wallet or bank account. I've done 2-3 refunds and all have went back to the card I used. You must have ran into some kind of glitch or something weird.

Yeah because of the sales tax that cost basically 85 dollars. If I had known about the other edition upgrade doing the same thing I wouldn't have payed that much. Just kinda irks me but at least I caught onto it. Hopefully zenimax understands. Not refunding the chapter because I don't want it. I'm refunding because I want the cheaper version of the digital collectors edition. They will get more crowns and subcription from me. Which I will use the refund money on.

cant you get easy refunds from steam? in the past this has been super easy for me and done within minutes....

if that doesnt work i'd talk to customer support..if they can either refund it or give you the difference in crowns.

I am sure it will work out.

Yeah it probably depends on employees vs workload. I know some people say they got a refund for a game within 30 minutes if it was cut and dry. But the average is 2-4 hours if its cut and dry, about a day if its iffy and then it is posted to your wallet within 24 hours typically after approval. External refunds can take a week.

Thought preorder payments don’t actually happen until like at least 10 days until launch, should be able to simply cancel it but steam could work differently

Okay got back from steam this.
Your purchase has been refunded by Steam.
We’ve issued the refund to your Steam wallet. The funds will be shown now as pending and will become available to spend within 7 days.
I hope I don't have to wait seven days. But if I do I understand. Then I will rebuy the right version. If am able to do so thank goodness for that.
I already got the 49 dollars version ready to go now I can purchase that just need that 85 dollars back. Then its getting rebought. Then I will have the chapter ready to go and more crown ready to be bought.
I might have to wait till Zenimax knows its refunded so the refund can go fully through.

Hopefully the refund with Zos doesn't take to long. Hopefully will be done within the next twenty four hours. I reset the mount from the chapter bought one back to another and now waiting to see if it gets refunded in game. To where there will be a purchase option opened up. I should have done it in game instead of out of game on the steam client I might not have made that mistake by doing it that way. Hopefully the process speeds up. But I can imagine that it will take some time.

Steam refund is legit good. Just ask for it, I forget how but it's easy.

If you have the pre-order mount in your collections are you entitled to a refund as you’ve already ‘consumed’ part of the product? I guess Steam policies are more liberal than consoles’ so I ask partly from a selfish perspective as I very nearly did this myself.

EDIT: I just remembered that, after the live broadcast, I clicked the ‘Upgrade’ link in the Collections/Chapters section of my in-game menu and it took me to the £75 edition on the Xbox store.

Okay after a twenty four hour waiting period I got the money back but I saw I still owned the chapter in the game itself. I do hope I didn't get into trouble for this. I did in fact rebuy the 49% digital collectors update right after regaining the funds though so I do hope Zenimax Understands on this.
Just kinda worried about that. I hope I will be fine. The whole point of the refund was to buy the cheaper version of it. Now got 70 dollars left after getting the funds returned. So hopefully all will be well on it.
Which I spent on crowns of course like I said I was going to do. Glad that is over with. Just hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.
But it shouldn't. As they still are getting money for the chapter.

I almost made the same mistake on steam. The game store page you first land on showed the full editions that included the base games and the collector's editions on day 1 and 2. I had to search "Greymoor" to find the Upgrades, without the base games.

Well, I want an extra mount too but I always "preorder" chapters after the PC release since we get it 2 weeks before the consoles and it somehow isn't the official release date. I'm not going to buy a cat in the bag.
