This originated in my home town, where it is typically around zero C (32°F) on January 1. However, there are some hardy souls in even colder climates that have to clear a hole in the ice first before they can take a dip in the water. (Water that cold is apparently very painful, and not safe to stay in for more than a couple of minutes).0 -
