Comparing to last year it was pretty low. Last year total amount of viewers on twitch was 1,2M this year it was 260k so basically almost 5 times less. This year 2 hours long stream have similar numbers to 2017 stream that lasted less then 1 hour.

    2019 Elsweyr announcment https://twitchtracker.com/bethesda/streams/32200112160

In general pretty weak stream when compared to similar ones in previous years.

Yeah that's bad news. I bet sales and pre-orders are going to suffer. Every time I watch a stream with someone from Zenimax main company or Bethesda its always bad. I knew Pete Hines would jynx it. I hope ESO doesn't die learns its lesson and comes back next year bigger and better. I still hope to see all of black marsh since Bethesda will never do it.

Anyone knows where I could watch it today?

It started at 11 pm for me, on a workday it’s too late. But I’m still curious

I don’t know if this the full show but this is on YouTube.

Well i mean, people can point out the: Steam charts don't mean anything, or, it's not that simple, or the game is not worse, or the game is doing just fine, any excuse really, but the matter of fact is that people are less interested, and it shows in the numbers.

So again, fanboyism, stop it please, you don't gain anything from it really.

I do hope that this expansion does well though, but for me, they have a long list of things to do before this game is truly good, for one, revert dots to about elsweyr level, but that's just the tip of the iceberg, and honestly, the least important.

Clearly the changes after elsweyr were not liked much, and the general apathy to problems that should have already be solved did not help, or the fact that zos pretty much always resorts to the lowest effort solution, which causes problems in of itself. Yea, this game has problems, serious problems, there's no denying it.

It seems that not even skyrim saved the show this time, it's pretty amazing that they got such low numbers even with skyrim as the core of the expansion.

as an ex-player i have come here to check out if they have made the game fun again - it appears not. its still either a meta game or a dress up game with nothing in between for those players who are not new or dont want to be obsessed with builds. so its a no from me - still have nearly 12000 crowns though.

Damn that's a big drop. So fanboys were wrong and Steam chart can be a viable indicator of game population trends. Good we have at least that

Why did they chose a Thursday for the event anyway? And we also counted less than 75.000 viewers, including YouTube and several Twitch channels. But I'm happy to get that bat, so...

They represent a sample of 20,000+ active players each month. That's an enormous sample size and as close to perfectly representative as you can mathematically get.

The game lost a huge chunk of its active player base this year. My friends list is down to just 3 players still logging in. My trade guilds went through massive purges. I literally just log in to pay my guild dues and get my daily bonuses (if there is anything I like in the month, and there usually isn't). I haven't actually played the game in a few months.

Performance issues are the main reason for my hiatus.

10pm on a school night in the UK; even later across most of Europe.

Not surprised they did not get huge numbers. Some people have to get up early for work and so would not have time to watch live.

2pm for me so no go watching live. Actually 150k was a high number i thought.

The 80K was across all streaming channels and that was easily met. They did no meet the upper one. We will all still get the bat pet. Add in that 5:00 PM on a weekday prevents many people from having access to the streams and the numbers are not bad at all.

Plus it was past some European's bedtime with work the next day. I gave it 15 minutes to contribute to the number then went to bed.

That same annoying guy always turns up when they do a stream like this. Probably a Zos employee.

Here we go again. Enough with the damage control already. Past broadcast was done exactly at the same time and the stream got over 130k viewers just on twitch, ON A TUESDAY. So you are wrong.

I tuned in before the stream started because I got a notification, closed it because I wanted to let it run when it really started, but then I forgot... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
