    Hyped, Excited for whats coming.
I'm excited for the vampire content and revamp. I hope we get a decent vampire castle and some vamp costumes/armor. I have wanted a bat pet for a long time so I am happy about that. Blackreach looks pretty cool, too.

My hope is that they change Vampire Mist Form to that animation of changing into bats and flying away! How cool would that be?!!

Oh, and the Antiquities looks interesting.

Loving the upcoming changes to vampires, and I'm looking forward to this quite a bit. I haven't been logging into the game much because even though I love Khajit as a race I really don't like the overall aesthetic of Elsweyr, plus the main towns are deceptively hollow with most of the buildings being closed off.

I'm not to happy with it.
Underwhelming looking story that will probably just be "the big bad vampires are trying to take over the world!!1!11!!!"

There doesn't seem to be anything else that might strike my fancy. Antiquities is cool and all but it doesn't justify the price tag. Vampires in Skyrim has already been done so ZOS is really gonna have to spice things up to make it appealing for me. A combination with Werewolves might have done it, seeing as how Skyrim is supposed to have a lot of Hircine worshippers (See Hildegard from DB). No new actual skill line has killed it for me though.

Honestly surprised they didn't use Winterhold and the college as the main focal point of the chapter, there are so many different narrative options when you have an entirely independent magical institution. Also gives a good reason to include one-handed and rune as a skill line.

    EDIT: Phone typing is hard

    Meh could be better.
I have to wait and see, but right now I'm meh.

If the vamp rework makes vamps useful in PvE for more than one passive, than that could be cool (I would like an option to remove the vamp skin).

I'm on the fence with Antiquities. Furnishing and mount rewards aren't a big thing for me and I'm worried that this will turn into a go run and fetch this item system.

Mythic gear sounds cool. I'm interested to see what the different set bonuses will be.

I'm super bummed that we aren't getting more options for magicka weapons (spell swords, fists, anything at this point). We've been stuck with the same 3 weapons (all staves) for 5 years now.

    I'm fine with it.

I enjoyed the House Ravenwatch quest-line in Rivenspire so it'll be good to see some of them again.

I hope this year they finally expand upon the outfitting system with options to allow us to hide shoulders, tassets, and armor flaps.

Overall it's fine. I am not a fan of DLC dungeons so I guess I won't understand some of the story, which sucks but oh well.

Antiquities sound exciting but there should be a new skill line or class or major element to justify the "chapter" tag and 40 dollars cost.

They literally said in the stream two new skill lines, whether or not they are including Vampire as a "new" skill line is still unknown but that still means they added at least one new skill line. Which according to you justifies the price tag.

    pros:
    vampires and redesign
    black reach
    solitude
    trial

    neutral:
    antiquities and mythics

    negative:
    no winterhold
    no whiterun
no new skill or weapon line or class
no new pvp or other multiplayer game modes or activities

I've been here since launch, and I have to say this is the first chapter revival that left me totally not hyped.

Also the first I'm not sure I want to pre-order.

I'll end up getting it (at some point on sale) for the fishing, antiquities, the trial and a chance for some Skyrim nostalgia...

But the yearlong story arc feels a bit MEH to me.

I loved playing Skyrim, and in ESO Lyris is my favorite of the 5 companions...

but from what I've seen so far it seems a bit blah for my taste and $$$. :(

I'm still hung over from the beating we took last year with combat changes, a couple litter boxes for cats, more re-skinned content, and a meandering, year-long story line a 3rd grader could improve on. Summerset, Murkmire, Elsweyr...none of those places make me want to return. I don't expect much more from the Skyrim hype. As long as we don't hear "Vampires..in your own homeland!" at every wayshrine, that would be an improvement. A new trial may be nice...as long as they don't further screw up the combat system.

Well, do I get it with my ESO subscription? Then good!

    I was thinking...hmmm

    1) Perhaps the big re-download will fix a few things, not getting too excited (Cyrodiil / Disconnectville I'm looking at YOU)
    2) More costumes I can buy from the store (Always looking for a nice dress or good looking pant suit for my girl)
    3) More motifs to get through exploring so I can sell the new hotness
    4) More places to explore and farm for mats
    3) More Guild Trader spots

    Ok!
Ebonheart Pact, Nord Templar/healer on NA Xbox server. My main toon WAS a tall and foxy redhead - now she has been gamma-irradiated and has green skin and black hair. 3 other characters I only use for writs. Can't be bothered to create multiple toons - EXCEPT now my WW is getting spooled up for Cyrodiil - Blood For The Pact! IRL cranky sometimes redhead chick at large in Las Vegas, NV

I believe that was the antiquities and the two skill functions it has with it (finding them and digging them up). But I hope I am wrong, I really do. We need new weapon lines

It seems like this is just more of the same, I have no doubt that the zone will be nice and there will be some good quests there but antiquities sounds like Psijic questline style busy work and there are a lot of features I would have preferred over it:
    • Veteran Overland and Solo Dungeons
    • New weapons: Spears, Spellsword, crossbows
    • Mounted combat
    • Bard career: Go tavern to tavern making money performing (More mechanical than just playing an emote)
    • Improved combat to make it feel more visceral: New sound design better paired animations with hitting and enemy reactions, decapitations and limb severing, etc. Lots of way to make the combat feel like you're actually hitting something

I welcome the vampire overhaul as it was needed but next year I hope they really do something that will impact that game all of the time. ZOS has been playing it safe for far too long.

I'm not really excited, but I am pretty happy with this. I'll need to see more stuff with the Antiquities system. That could be really cool, but it's too early for me to start getting worked up.

So, on the whole, I'm pleased, this is cool, but I'm not, exactly, excited. I think last year burned that out of me, a bit.

I’m just gonna be disappointed if I have to look like a god awful vampire lord. I completely avoided being one in Skyrim because I hate it that much

I think they said the Vampire Lord will be the ult. I'm a little worried that Bat Swarm and Mist Form are going away.

I'm worried about the appearance. Given what they said in the live steam. That it will be more the feed the more your appearance changes. I just hope stage one does't look like stage four does now and would actually look very good and very vampiric looking with slightly red eyes and fangs.

Well, I've yet to make a necromancer because dark isn't really my thing, so not thrilled with vamp focus. Antiquities could be fun, although WoW certainly managed to make archaeology boring. I guess I'm trying to keep an open mind. Maybe I'll buy it, maybe I won't.

In the past, I've been excited about the new material, but gradually lost that warm glow as the content got bundled with too many ill-considered nerfs. This time, the content itself is unappealing. We just did necromancers, now it's vampires... maybe if I were in one of those dark-themed RP guilds that advertise in zone chat.

Of course, the combat team will likely buff the heck out of vamps followed by nerfing them to oblivion. Block will likely be bugged for the next year once they fix it. I can only shudder to think what spreadsheeting proc sets will look like...

Anyhow, the trailer was nice, but yeah, will be saving my money for Starbase or New World.

I think what they really need to work on is their presentations - I know people don't think it matters but trust me it does.
blizzard knows this, it's why they put alot of effort into their Blizzcon presentations in order to get people excited. Not just devs discussing but also clear roadmaps on screen along with samples of gameplay.

I think the Vegas show was a good proof of concept for an Elder Scrolls Online convention and they should stick with it.
